Apple has released iOS 15.7.1 and iPadOS 15.7.1, operating system updates that are designed for older iPhones and iPads unable to run iOS 16 and iPadOS 16. The updates are also available to those who have chosen not to update to iOS 16 at this time.

I finally updated my 2016 iPhone SE last week that I use just for surfing the net on wifi at home from 14.2.1 to 15.7 and it caused a drastic drain on the battery. New battery was installed at the Apple Store not too long ago was at 98% and I could easily go more than a day before having to charge at around 15-20%. Now on on 15.7 with the same type of useage, the battery goes from 100% to 0 in about 3hrs 12 min. And that’s with all the background stuff and everything else that could use battery turned off and even deleted all the apps I no longer use. What a PITA, and you can’t go back.

Been reading and now I think we will wait on the older iPhone update till after the first of the year and then just get newer ones. My batteries last all day with what usage we do. Even when the wife uses the navigation app.
