I am leaving for Spain tomorrow. I bought and installed the Garmin City Navigator NT Europe DVD.

I also loaded about 27,000 custom POIs for Spain, mainly the radars (radares), gas stations (gasolineras) and places to see (que ver). I built a few POIs for my hotels and other places I want to visit.

Costco.com now has the Nuvi 660 for 299.00, Costco in Columbus Ohio now has the 680 for 399.00 and the Magellan 4250 for 249.00

When I download a POI such as Baseball Parks.cvs and then add the Baseball Parks.bmp is that all I have to do to for it to work? And if it had a sound like the "crack of a bat" followed by a verbal and the download was Baseball Parks.mp3 would that be correct for the whole thing to work right? On some of these POIs the .cvs and the .bmp and .mp3 are different. Do some files have to be renamed?

Where is the State Parks Combined poi file . I can't find it

I like to do a route in segments: A to B, and then B to C, etc. (separate files)over a period of two days (or more, ...I assume the same routine would apply to multiple trips/routes).

The A to B route is simple.

Is there a simple way for me to do a B to C route (without being at location/point B? )

In your member account there is a place to show poi maintainers. Is this just for the person who created a poi file or is it for anyone that has created on or updated, or added a file to a existing poi file.

I never use paper maps, it is either my garmin or some type of digital maps (ie. mapquest, google maps, etc). Just wondered if anyone uses paper maps.

Quite a lengthy artical in the Dallas Morning News regarding the City of Dallas idling more that one-fourth of it's 62 red-light cameras. On a lot of the locations they have decided to just make the yellow light timing longer.

When I connect my nuvi to my daughter's vista box, it says...

Do you want to scan and fix Garmin nüvi (F:)?

There might be a problem with some files on this device or disc. This can happen if you remove the device or disc before all files have been written to it.

Does anyone else get this in vista?

As the site gets busier my ability to remember which email goes with which screen name declines.

The WiFi hot spots file for the Houston, Texas (and immediate area) area is nearly a year old now. Any updates available? I'm going to be spending a bit of time in that coastal area and will be using avialable hot spots.

I heard on the news today that there is a debate going on regarding the installation of ten red light cameras in the city of Tampa Florida. One concern voiced was that studies indicated NO reduction of accidents due to the cameras and that the yellow light timing was shorter where cameras were in place. Seems that cities are more interested in making money than reducing accidents.

Good day. Not sure if this is the correct place for this, but it is "open" so thought it would be good.

My wife and I just drove to Texas and back. All told, the Rest Area file was first class. I set it for a 26,000 feet proximity alarm which gave us a five mile warning. It worked.

I want to start creating my own POI files, what is the easiest/fastest way to do that? I need to know the best way to get the coordinates or is there specific sources that can do that as a list. Where do you guys get yours?

I'm researching campgrounds and attractions for a trip to WV/VA/KY. While perusing info on rvparkreviews.com, I found an ad for campground POIs. WOW! They charge a fortune for this and other files!
