are now downloading as Excel files and not as .cvs files as they used too! What is wrong? What has happened? I downloaded EasyGPS to load geocaches to my Nuvi650 and now this happens. I'vs since deleted EasyGPS and when I looked in my files at the POIs they have all changed to Excel files and they have that yellow EasyGPS icon. This is not making my day! Any answers out there? Thanks in advance,

open with
Right click on the file and choose"open with whatever" (notepad) and it will open.
If you double click on the file it will open with Excel.

.CSV files are exel files
As long as the file extension is .csv, you are fine. If you have deleted EasyGPS, then the files should no longer have the "yellow" face on them and should show as "exel" files with the X icon.
Is this the case?

The Files
are showing Excel files with a big "X", never used to be that way though. I did download the new POI Loader and that is quite different. When I try to update my redlight files on my Nuvi, the POI Loader says "device not ready". I have no idea what I should do.

UNIT or SD slot
Make sure you don't have the SD card selected as the destination.

The SD card
is where I store all my POIs. And the one I'm using is new, empty. Why not there?

Is the card good
Try the loader with a different card to verify that it is not the card. This error normally occurs when the destination is either not there, formatted, or is just bad.
And there is no reason not to use the card, I meant to make sure you have the proper destination selected. Sorry for the poor wording.

The csv files do have a x in them and a comma showing on the icon.Hold your cursor on the file and don't click it and it should show as a csv file.

Thanks
for all your help. It is now working correctly. I guess you just have to walk away and come back and then everything gets back to its proper place!! If that makes sense!!
