Ipad 2 GPS capabilities

Is anyone planning to give the Ipad 2 with GPS a try? I am wondering how it compares with my Garmin. I think it would be nice for the passenger/navigator to use in 3G mode to switch back and forth between the Internet and GPS to do research on POI's along the way.

GPS disruptions heading our way?

A new high-speed wireless network given preliminary approval for installation nationwide could cause severe disruptions to GPS signals, rendering everything from car-navigation systems to jet-flight controls useless.

New to group

Hi guys, I recently purchased a Garmin GPS and looking forward to participating in the group!

POI update question

I updated an existing POI file (Cactus_League_Baseball_Parks.csv) and submitted it via the Upload and share a CSV link.
The file never got posted and it's been around 5 or 6 days. It wasn't my file to begin with but was 2 years old and needed an update.
Was I wrong to update someone else's file?

Did you throw away that that old road map?

Do you have a factory-installed new vehicle GPS?

I've been looking at new cars lately. Many of them have built-in GPS's as an option. Can the brand be specified, or are they subcontracted by the vehicle manufacturer? Are the map and red light/speed updates free?
