I was reading a news article about about the progress of a bill in the Alabama legislature that proposes to ban texting while driving. On page 2 of the article, the author reported the following:

“On Jan. 1, 2010, in Colorado a law banning the manual entry of data into electronic devices while driving went into effect.

Can anyone recommend a reliable and speedy GPS repair facility?

I dropped my 3 mo. old Tom Tom and the screen cracked.

Several years ago there was some discussion on the POI Factory forum about celebrity voices for the GPS and Gary Busey's name was mentioned. Well, for better or worse it's happened.

I figured I'd start a thread on damge due to the multiple situations happening in Japan. I haven't heard anything yet about chip manufacturers or suppliers yet, but my expectation is that there may be shortages and price increases for all electronics in the near future.

Howdy all.

Here's the scenario:

I was at Chattanooga, Tn. and had to plan a route to Vernon, Ca.

From reading the forum, I discovered that the GPS would not automatically adjust as I crossed time zones.

Now, when I was close to my destination, and I had my GPS set to EST before I left and did not change the time setting, I found that I was going to arrive at my stop in 2 hours.

I was searching the internal POI file on my 1490T for a few local restaurants that I have already added manually. I did this so I could use the Feedback feature built into the unit.

Does anyone use conjunction with 9500 X50?

To my knowledge, technically loading RLC & speedcam database to the unit like what we do in here. Not sure how accurate it as unless someone comes with feedback.

My Garmin, all of a sudden goes off!, sometimes it comes back on, but when it does, no sound, I then need to reset it 10 sec, voice comes back on, (most of the time),
BTW, this is my 3rd one.
TIA, for any help in this matter

Does anyone know what brands of GPS use the CSV File for the PIO'S Beside's Garmin Thanks for any input

Is anyone planning to give the Ipad 2 with GPS a try? I am wondering how it compares with my Garmin. I think it would be nice for the passenger/navigator to use in 3G mode to switch back and forth between the Internet and GPS to do research on POI's along the way.
