Maps Of Other Countries

Does anyone know if there is a site that posts map software for other countries ie. Dominican Republic, Jamaica, Trinidad or any of the other Carribean countries?

Contributors of the Week 2010-10-25

This week we are recognizing ScotW for his outstanding work on the Subway Restaurant project file.

What a huge undertaking this is. Thank you so much for adding this to our catalog.

Newbie.

Hey all. Just looking at replacing a new GPS that has failed me too many times the past month. Anyhow, I came across this site in my searches. Didn't even know you could customize and add POI files. Good stuff!

Sever's Corn Maze and Fall Festival

http://www.severscornmaze.com/

I just thought I would post that I took my family to Sever's Corn Maze this fall. It was my first time, so it was kind of interesting to get a map and follow my sons around locating points inside the maze. I brought my Garminfone with and it was interesting to look at the track on the map. It sort of reminded me of geocaching!

Freeing up space

In the past I have removed voices, vehicles, and help files. Am looking at the text files but not sure which one is the English. Also looking at the keyboard files same question. Any other suggestions to free up space??

Tint Violation

I got 2 tickets for my 2 front windows in NYC. I have Florida License and Registration.

Any ideas to defeat it?

Thanks in advance.

GPX Proximity Alerts Using EPE

When setting alerts in EPE using the proximity "replace all" method, do I need to do this each time the gpx file is revised?

POI's on a SP2720

I am a noobie at POI's on my Streetpilot 2720. I use my 2720 on a Harley Davidson motorcycle, and want to download all of the Harely dealerships. When I try to download the US and Canada dealerships, only some show up in my favorites, not in Custom POI's. I can also find them when I go to Where To on the first screen, then extras, then custom poi's.

Contributors of the Week 2010-10-18

This week we are recognizing Gary0825 and Bikaone as our outstanding contributors.

Both of these individuals are part of the Florida red light camera detection and reporting team;)

There have been many changes going on in Florida over the last month and it is great to have these guys out there looking out for us.

Thanks again for sending in all of your reports over the last few months.

Intro level GPS...starting over...

Looks like I need to replace my Nuvi 200W.

What is a comparable entry level unit that is NOT a Garmin?

All I need is a basic unit that gets me from point A to the address I input...nothing special.

Thanks,
Steve

the Highest Art Form yet: Traveling with custom POIs in your GPS

Hello All,

See the map of America's Blues Highway:
http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?hl=en&ie=UTF8&msa=0&msid=1177...

"God said, 'Out on highway 61!'" in Bob Dylan's lyrical interpretation of the Old Testament story of God testing Abraham's devotion. Abraham had asked God , "Where do you want this KILLING done?"

Smart database

It seems that enactment of additional laws and aggressive enforcement of same does not necessarily provide for a safer driving environment. For instance, reference this report: http://technologyreview.com/wire/26391/?a=f with regards to the effect of some new legislation.

Flying J / Pilot Travel Plazas POI Files

Why don't the Flying J/Pilot Travel Plaza POI's down load on my Garmin 660.

Uniden Home Patrol Scanner

Thought some of you might find this interesting. Uniden has just released a new type of scanner radio called HomePatrol. What's unique about this is it's not only capable of receiving all of the popular trunked radio systems used by fire, police, rescue, etc; BUT, it can be programmed for the area you are in simply by entering your zip code.

Some cheap GPSr's at Costco with lifetime maps

Too many to list, but my favorite is the TomTom XXL 550 TM with lifetime traffic and maps for $170 AIR.

There's also a nuvi 255 with lifetime maps for $120 which puts it about $35 more than Amazon (which doesn't throw in lifetime maps . . .).

How 'Bout Them Rangers!?!

For the first time in forever, the Texas Rangers are in the Pennant Race and one game from the World Series to boot!

Of course that one game is a pretty big stumbling block when the other team is the NY Yankees, but maybe we can pull it off.

Go Rangers!
