Sirkull has been a member of POI Factory for over seven years.

He’s part of the group of members we have who post frequent updates to their files throughout the year.

This year he’s made 13 updates to the Best Western file, 8 to his Dollar Tree file and most recently 10 updates to his Free Talk file.

I don't remember seeing it posted here yet, but the Europe 2016.10 map update has been released. Downloaded it the other day and everything seems to be working OK.

I have been using Campgrounds and RV Parks Combined for locating campgrounds and RV parks. This morning I noticed the COMBINED US Campgrounds (CSV) By Rivopom.

Has anyone used both of these.... and which is more complete?

I've been a big fan of the Garmin nuvi products over the years. I'm currently using a 2598 LMT enhanced by the garmin smartphone link for additional traffic.

In danger of losing your windmill?

Maybe you can share the last place your GPS took you and if you encountered any problems, or if you used it to seek out special places to go (like Thai Food, ice cream shoppes, etc.).

Anything to keep your windmill alive.

This week we are recognizing, mahoney!

Mahoney has been with POI Factory for a VERY long time. He maintains A LOT of files and he helps us out by updating some of the orphaned files when he can.

This week, in the discussion Shell Gives Us POI Files, we were reminded of how fortunate we are to have mahoney maintain files for us.

Ajasaro has been a member of POI Factory for nearly 8 years and maintains 61 POI files.

July is a busy vacation travel month so we appreciate him updating the National Parks, Monuments, Preserves & Historical Parks file to help assist families on the go.

This could have some chilling effects on all of us.. Ecpecially if we go to the milage based taxes off of GPS devices in our cars..

I have enjoyed Streets and Maps with the POI available, I had not updated my maps for a good time. I bought a new computer and went online to get the latest version I was blindsided by the fact that they had discontinued Streets and Maps.

Another pitfall for GPS users without Ezpass:

Unless you use the toll road exclusion option on your GPS, or have Ezpass, you could be in for a hefty fine if your unit routes you via one of these Ezpass only exits.

It would be handy for the GPSr to give an alert for such an occurrence.

While cleaning out an old box in the garage over the weekend, I came across my old Radio Shack Digi Traveler GPS "puck" that originally had three cables, one that plugged into a Palm Pilot, one that plugged into a computer serial port, and the third for a pocket PC, but I really don't remember now.
