It's a pleasant ^ back roads drive from home.

To Savannah, GA. Drove quite a lot around Tybee Island used FourSquare to find beach restaurants.

I preferred looking at the falls from the VA side. It was quite a bit further to get there from Germantown, but the view was better IMO.

After 5 days of solid driving I'm glad to park my butt and watch the ball game.

Outside of Atlanta, a "display" junk yard of cars from the 40s to today.

1st month of the 2016 Tour of Honor is in the books. Been to 10 memorials with many more planned for the rest of the season.

Just went for the day to Old Town Sacramento.

I used it recently to avoid a closure due to construction. I was going to have to detour through a residential neighborhood and though I had a general sense of the direction to go, knowing exactly which turns to make and where was going to be problematic trying to do it by guessing. I would have made it without the GPS but it was able to help me navigate the most efficient way through all the streets to the connector I needed to get on the main highway.

Heading out to the Blue Ridge Parkway.............

A couple of years ago I took it south to north. Not easy to find overnight motels. About 4pm I decided I better find something. Garmin told me there was a Super 8 about 6 miles west. So off I go and when I get to that "location", there was NOTHING there, not even an old rotting away motel, nothin, nada!!!

Costco run to Frederick MD

There isn't much along much of the parkway - I've driven most of it from Roanoke south so far. Around some of the larger cities, like Asheville, you can find places not too far off. And I did spend one memorable night in a small motel just off the parkway in Meadows of Dan, VA - I had hit a deer, and the tow truck guy dropped me there. He did end up driving me 3 hours back to Charlotte the next day, since it was Sunday and I couldn't get a rental.

Do check first. The Parkway is closed between it's crossing at US 460 near Roanoke, north to near the Peaks of Otter for paving of the route. There are prominent signs direction you to 460, East to Rte 43 in Bedford back to the Parkway.

Pain clinic is nick and stick with the dentist as far as who can deliver the most pain.

My first trip with my new Nuvi 2639 was to a shopping mall about 30 miles away as a test drive. It performed really well.

My current trip finds me in Florida on vacation. Spent the last week wearing myself out at theme parks.

From Hialeah,FL to Warwick,RI.My old 1350 worked just fine.

Used to run around like crazy and come home needing a vacation from the vacation.

I took a school group to Wonderworks in Pigeon Forge, TN and the aquarium in Gatlinburg yesterday.

Drove over to Shenandoah VA area and spent a couple of nights at Skyland. Been doing it for 50 years. Nice time, but for the rain showers that intermittently blew over.

Planning vacation time through Minnesota, North Dakota, and South Dakota and throwing in a family reunion to boot.

Fly to Salt Lake City then drive to Provo area and spend the week there.
