Garmin talk

I just delivered flyers for Walmart in Grand Rapids MI that advertised a C330 for $128 during the after Thanksgiving sale. I wonder how many of these things they actually have. I wonder if any local Garmin fans would want to fight the crowds to see if they get one. It certainly would be a good price. I paid $249 for mine on sale.

I have subscribed, on Garmin's website, to receive an e-mailed notification when the software is updated.
So far, there have already been s/w updates for my 350 & 660 - never got any alert!
And no, it's not about firewalls, spam filters, etc; always Garmin's (other) e-mails got through...
So, what's the catch?

Picked up a c330 on Friday from Walmart and it has what appears to be c340 firmware on it. Tried to update with webupdate and it says there are no new updates.

Anyone else come across this?

May end up taking this back if the local BestBuy has the nuvi200 on BF...otherwise, will go back for the $50 price difference at Walmart.

Ok, how do some of you get the two dots over the u in "Nuvi"?

My parents are interested in getting a GPS and want to know the difference between the StreetPilot and nüvi.

Is the StreetPilot being phased out and replaced by the nuvi?

The models seem to overlap in features. Is there a key difference that I'm missing?

Bought Garmin's SP330c 16 months ago. Warrantied for 1 year. Worked great. Ordered 2008 update ($75 with shipping), then the SP 330c quit on me. Goes on only when on external power, but will not acquire satellites. Does not charge under any method (usb or 12v.) Canceled the 2008 update immediately.

does the 260 announce redlight camera warning if u included mp3 file like the 350?

I ordered my map udate online about 2 months ago now for my Nuvi 350 (CD ROM) and it has yet to arrive in the mail. Whats the average wait time for a single CD? Seems a tad prolonged to me?!

hello everybody im new here on the site... i just bought my garmin nuvi 660 1 week ago and i accidentaly save the fodors on my garmin so it went to extras.. and i was checking my gps i noticed that its already on my travel kit too so it means i got fodors on my extra and in my travel kit... my question is is there a possible way that i can delete that fodors on my extras features???

Trying to install 2008 update to C330. I get a "grmnusb.sys"(Unknown) is needed. Type the path where the file is located, and then click OK.

The nuvi 760 is available through 11/21 for $699 at Joe's Sports, Outdoor & More, www.gijoes.com .

They have the nuvi 260 for $349, also through 11/21.

Don't know if anyone else had this problem and the fix but thought it would good to post.

I found a huge KMART which is pretty new but it does not show up in my Garmin search for shopping.

How do you report this to Garmin or whomever?

i have a garminc330 that i got when it first came out.

now ,i loaded some red light detection,is there a way to set this?or it is there as a ghost?cause i see no icon?and is it good for montreal?

a side from that is there a way to clean up the old poi's in this machine?without deleting them all..lol

The 750 has this really cool feature, however I find it quite cumbersome to access. Going through those layers and resetting to "Offroad" and/or "Pedestrian" modes is awkward at best.

Couldn't a macro be hacked to do this in one swell foop, or is it possible that Garmin will incorporate such a macro & assign it to an on-screen icon in the near future?

Just a thought.

In mid October my S/O and I took a trip to Sedona AZ from Dana Point CA where we live. Trip was roughly 500 miles each way.

The 660 was doing a great job until we decided to grab a bite. I did a check of the POIs that I had on the 660 which included a number that I had downloaded from POI Factory.

I've had a GPS-12 since 1999, and a GPS-V since 2001. Both units show Lat/Lot, and compass course in actual degrees.

The 660 is great for driving, but doesn't show this basic information. How are you all capturing the Lat/Lon for your POIs?
