Question for Miss POI

I was wondering if you were interested in carrying TourGuide files here (or maybe you are and I'm just missing them)? I have a completed one for the Amtrak California Zephyr route. It is set up with voice prompts to announce upcoming stations when you are approximately 2 miles out. I just returned from a trip between Sacramento and Denver and it worked like a charm.

I have almost completed one for a second route. I can't remember at the moment which one, but I believe it's the Southwest Chief.

Ultimately I hope to include other features in the TourGuides, giving narratives about POI's along the routes (hadn't really thought about this until a railroad museum volunteer started making these type of announcements on the train PA between Sac and Reno), turning it into a true tourguide.

Does it work with the 660?

Now that sounds interesting, but does it work with my GPS? Not even sure how that would work anyway. But it does sound cool.. smile

Is this a back door way to create a route on the Nuvis without the routing capability of the 7XX series?

Absolutely Quackinup

That is a feature that we have been looking forward to adding and now that the programing of the new system is going well, we have time to get back to our to do list.

Afraid not. In fact, if you were to use a driving TourGuide you would probably want to set up a route passing through the TourGuide points. However, doing these on a train route makes it easy since the train will take you exactly where you need to be.
