A&W restaurant human voice audible annoucement?

OK, I've installed the proximity .csv files for all A&W, McDonalds and Tim Horton's locations in my city using PoiLoader. I hear a DING and I can see a screen box with text indicating the address of the A&W restaurant nearby.

How do I replace Garmin's DING sound with a human voice that announces "A&W restaurant nearby"?

Thank you.

I made up

I made up my own announcements with software at http://www.research.att.com/~ttsweb/tts/demo.php

"Rest Area Ahead"

"Crackerbarrel Ahead"

"Possible Speed Trap Ahead"

etc

I made them into .wav files but you can convert
if necessary into .mp3 files

...but his style and presentation will entertain you at the same time.

not sure if this was his intent, but that style alleviates the newbie fear of messing around with your new toy, at least it did for me.

and it inspired me to seek out more info (which is how I found this great site) and experiment.

it is a great complement to this site, and Gary posts here to let you know when he has added new articles, or updated existing ones.

highly recommended.
