In brief :
- Files over 2 Gigabytes on SD card supported (Limit is probably 4GB - that 2G map size limit reported is B.S.)
- Total maps near 6GB supported (if you can stay below the 4005 segment limit which i cant).
- Map segments below 4005 supported.

So i've got around 4.4Gigs of maps loaded in the unit but ive come close to my 4005 segment limit which is why i cant load more. Startup time has increased by ~ 10 seconds and the unit responds normally (no lag). A 32Gig SD card would have been better since my existing card is now completely full and internal 2G memory is also completely full. The 16G card formats to 15.1G and ive got it stuffed with MP3s + maps with 200Kb space free (1MB free on internal memory). Made it read only for obvious reasons. Loading files above the 4005 segment limit BSODed my computer (and the nuvi) on transfer.
1000 Song Limit
Can you confirm whether your Nuvi recognizes more than 1000 songs.

how about 1148
I'm not about to count how many it will play but on random it shows it is playing song 890 of 1148 on my 750 with an 8 gig card over half full.
I have 42 mp3 files in an internal file and I believe they are also part of the count.
