Garmin talk

Has anyone ever loaded pois onto a Paccar Navsmart Gps system. These systems are usually in kenworth or Peterbilt trucks. The mapping is Garmin based; Thanks for any replies

I've been away from trip planning for a while and can't remember something.

I have a database of locations (Name, address, City, State, Zip) but none of these have the Latitude or Longitude.

I am considering a Garmin inReach Explorer+. Does anybody here have one? If so, how do you like it?

I am wondering if anybody else has experienced either of these problems.

I downloaded and installed an OSM generic routeable map on my computer. This map is compatible and works well in Basecamp.

My Poor 660! It has put up with so much!

Lifetime Maps purchased so long ago I've forgotten when..
Found this place nearly 10 years ago.... POI's became a great addition to 660!
When Internal memory would not support maps, deleted un-needed files and continued on...
Replaced battery when it wouldn't hold a charge...

Anyone going to CES next month? I will be going and I'm anxiously awaiting beating up on the sales rep at the Garmin booth. He said last year there would be new automotive releases last spring and of course nothing was released. If anything, they dropped a few models (DriveLuxe for example). Anyway, curious to see others impressions if they go to the booth.

Warning…Garmin is having an issue with “City Navigator North America NT 2019.20.gmap” map update 2019.20 and Time Zone update v21.

Is there a list that puts all the mapsets with their corresponding JCV files that someone could point me to?

for example:

2019.20 .... Lg JCV D3060270A

As posted above, I am giving a bit of thought to a 7 inch Garmin GPS. Which Garmin 7 inch is the most feature rich?

I'm looking to get an AC wall charger that is compatible with a nuvi 2689. Has anyone had any success (no error message and it works!) with 3rd party chargers?

Anyone had damage due to a 3rd party charger? I'm not adverse to buying the Garmin product at $24 but I already have some high end Anker chargers and don't need another.

I have enabled the US Satellite system and GLONASS as well as WAAS/EGNOS.

Should I concerned with using all 3 or will this allow for more accuracy?

I’ve got a Nuvi 350. We are headed to New Zealand and Australia in a few months. I’m looking to buy the City Navigator Australia and NZ NT map from Garmin that comes on a microSD/SD card. But I’ve not found any instructions on using a map on a card; i.e. how to get the GPS to use the map on the card. I’ve never used the SD card slot for maps before.

I noticed a year or so ago that when I stopped for a paper on the way to work, after restarting my car, my 50LMT would show "Work1 - 8 min" in the bar at the top of the unit, although I had no route set. More recently, I've noted that it indicated several other "destinations" that I frequent from certain other locations.

note: this is nothing but a rant.

On the evening of Friday November 23rd I ordered a GPSMAP 64st directly from Garmin because they had a good price. The prompt acknowledgement e-mail said that they would 1) send an e-mail when it shipped and 2) they provided a link to check the status "after a few days". The e-mail hasn't arrived yet.

My Nuvi 2689 Internal Storage is getting full and I am looking for information on which files of the nuvi can be deleted without affecting its operation.

Hi, it's been a while since I was here.. Just moved back to NCfrom FL.... MY GPS 2598LMTHD seems to be slow when telling me to make a change, i.e. Make left turn.. It's at the 300 ft mark when it tells me.. Please advise

I have two 3490LMTs. I recently updated both (using Garmin Express) with the latest map update (2019.30). Updates were done back-to-back with no issues or errors and I've used Garmin Express in the past (on the same laptop) to update both units without issue.

Garmin began rolling out Garmin Express v6.10.0 today.

If you would like to update to the latest version, please visit the About page within the Settings of the Express application and select “Check for Updates to Express.”

I’ve been working with a Garmin Nuvi 5000 for about 7 - 8 years

In that time I have been able to create routable maps and us them for navigational in rural area of the U.S.

The system has been working fine up to last month. Sometime around the 20th of October, the maps started failing to unlock upon device initialization.
