I don't know about "quick" as the uncompressed file increases both the upload and download times. Some people have problems unzipping files so the uncompressed file helps to make a less fiddly download.

Does the update version matter, or will it work with any version?

Every JCV file is specific to a map update. In this case the D3060310A JCV file is for the CN North America 2020.30 map update.

Tested file today

I tested the file today on my 1390T. Works as expected and perfectly fine.

Here's some help. My thought is that with your Garmin SmartDrive 61, you will not need to use it...but I've been wrong before.

Also, in the FAQ, one user has reported that the Large JCV file does not work with the SmartDrive 51. If you do try it with your 61, let us know if it works so that I can update the FAQ.

Garmin Drivesmart 51/61

The Drivesmart 51/61 doesn't use the large JCV. It has the split screen. The large JCV only works on the older Garmin's where they have the full screen junction view.

chances are good that you don't need it or even want it smile (meant in good humor only). If you read the info in the link provided by CraigW you will see why.
