Garmin talk

Twice in the past week, my 760 has suddenly come up with a screen indicating a bluetooth firmware update is taking place but it never moves past 0%. The unit is unusable in this condition. Any suggestions?

receive this message when attempting to setup a route:
UNABLE TO CALCULATE ROUTE, NO ROADS NEAR STARTING POINT.
NO VISIBLE MAP IS SHOWN ON SCREEN.

Just got back from a trip going though small towns - Chilili, Tajique, Torreon, New Mexico. I set a route to my home in Albuquerque. I started at N34 38.322 106 09.968. The 265 routed me though the above towns. However, No towns showed up on the map regardless of the zoom factor. If I canceled the route and went to the screen that I could move the map they were there.

Is there a way I can create a route on my computer and transfer it to my Garmin 660?

Will the Zumo do it (I'm thinking about buying one for my motorcycle

I just shelled out $60 for a 128MB data card with the hope of uploading some the the excellent POI files on this site. When Garmin's POI loader failed to recognize my GPS I called Garmin. The tech support guy told me that the GPSmap 378 is not capable of uploading POI's, even if I use the Data Card programmer.

my garmin 780 will not recognize voice jack. it is not showing up in the voice menu. have attempted to reinstall voice file but nuvi will not open files. any help greatly appreciated. i have done a reinstall but still problem not corrected.

I have a Nuvi I use for everything work related.

About a week ago, it did a spontaneous restart and cleared everything out of its memory. I desperately need everything that was in there, for tax purposes among other things.

I am old, not very computer literate, and didn't realize I could be doing back ups.

Just got a email from Garmin Hadnt got the download yet,

I have a Garmin 660 but I do not think that makes a difference. I downloaded the POI Loader from Garmin's web site and everytime I use the loader to update something on my GPS, it goes back to Garmin to get the software again.

Did I do something incorrectly or is this the way it works?

Also can you still get the POI Editor and where?

My battery will not hold a charge. Anyone has this issue? How tough is it to get a new one?

Please bear with me as I'm new to all of this. I've done a bunch of reading and spent a lot of time on Gary Hayman's site but still I'm unclear as to loading POI's.

i have a garmin nuvi 255w and my friend updated it for me, but he took the files from his garmin nuvi 1300 and put it on mine, now the text to speech voices dont work. how do i get all the original files back?

After 3 days use, my new Garmin 3790Ts have problems to hold the GPS signal. It takes also very long time read the signal and somtime goes it away again. In many case will my "car" on the screen not follow the road.

Hat anybody seen this problem?

Not sure when they stopped this, or this is new on a 3790t, but you can not select any point on the map on the 3790t unless it is a street address. Coming from a 750, you can select any where and save it as a way-point or navigate to that point. I Discovered on the 3790 that is has to be address on a street for any option to come up.

When I down load files to an SD card can I use that card in other GPS units or am I limited to only Garmin or only that specific Garmin model?

I have a 265T that has a picture viewer function in it.
Can I put pics on a micro sd card and plug it into the sd slot on the garmin and then what? Do I just go to the viewer function and somehow the unit will know there are pics to view. I did notice that there are some pics in the viewer of bldgs. and landscapes; is this where I would view my pics from?

I just bought my first Garmin and I'm trying to learn all that I can. It's a brand new 3790T and so far I love it. It's their latest unit and if my first week with it is any indication it will be great!
I called tech support with a question last week and the gal wanted to know how I got my hands on one because they were all sold out. I had pre-ordered mine through Amazon two months ago.

The Ecoroute HD unit has now been out for a few months. I've searched for reviews and the very few I have found are all positive. Just curious if anyone here has one and what their thoughts about the unit are?

I have a 755t and I've noticed that the coverage since to be getting worse. Has anyone else noticed it?
