Garmin talk

For the last couple days, Amazon has been selling the Drivesmart 76 for $200 (33% off list price). I ordered one, and it's shipping directly from Garmin. So far, none of the other gps retailers I've looked at have matched the price. Is Garmin dumping a soon-to-be-discontinued product, or has Amazon just talked them into a temporary very good price?

Supposedly new, not reconditioned.

My wife and I have a class c motorhome. It has a Sony XAV-AX8000 that we use with Google maps on a Google Pixel 6 most of the time. It works okay most of the time.

Hello, I'm having trouble all of a sudden with my unit to where I cannot get a connection to Garmin Express, nor POI Loader so that my computer can find my unit, and that I can add Custom POI's to my unit.

I'm trying to download Garmin GPX files, but they never complete. Is there some trick to downloading that I'm missing? Or is the process just really slow? It's been 20 minutes and 430 KBs downloaded so far.

My nuvi 2689 recently decided to have "Home" about 3 to 4 miles from where it originally was. I didn't do anything to the device just did some return travel from Long Island. It worked fine for several days of navigation and knew exactly where I was on the return trip, just didn't take me to the previously defined “Home” destination.

I recently purchased a DriveSmart 66 and downloaded my POIs with sound and icons but they are not showing up or announcing on the GPS. The POIs worked on my old GPS, a Nuvi 3597. Is there anything more I need to do to make this work. Thank you.

Let's face it. Everyone has a fave when it comes to cell, gps or whatever they use to get around. I have had Garmin models for years, and TomTom and a couple off beat brands. If they used all the goodies from the culmination of these products, you'd have one great GPS. Even some of the mapping programs on cell like Sygic, Maps.ME and even TomTom work pretty good.

I just saw that Garmin has released a few new products recently.

Most are out of my price range, but I am glad that they are adding new products.

There were a lot of people complaining about watch synch issues. Some of what the new versions includes is noted below.

Added support for the Rally 110/210
Fixed an issue with device software versions displaying incorrectly.
Fixed an issue with Glances and Activity lists being moved or reset on devices after a sync with Garmin Connect.

I had an issue two days ago with a FourSquare listing on my DS65. When I searched to find where to report to FourSquare, I found an article on How To Geek that stated the "Foursquare is discontinuing its classic City Guides app. The company's focus seems to have shifted to prioritizing its check-in app, Swarm.

Seems like Garmin's at it again with the email's warning your account will be deleted, this time in 60 days, due to inactivity. Been a number of past threads over the years about these emails.

Polaris Ride Command maps are useful while ATV/UTVing, but they are not compatible with Garmin.

If I recall correctly, the maps that Garmin City Navigator uses comes from HERE. Where do the POIs comes from? Do they also come from HERE or does Garmin compile them?

Hi everyone, So it`s been about 3 years now but i don`t have the lane assist or JCV on my unit since these new map updates. It seems garmin has remove those options and files.Is there anyway to download and install these files manually. If i can be pointed in the right direction then that would be great.
