Garmin talk

This is the 3rd time this has happened but here's the deal. Shut off not sleeping, the thing starts, says map loading, then gets a bit brighter, then makes a sound then quits. Does this repeatedly. Will not start at all this time. Two other times it finally did start. I connected it in the car and no luck. Held the top left corner and it says system loading then quits.

I have racked my brains out trying to figure a way to make a custom route and save to unit. Map source doesn't work. I ride a motorcycle and like to make my own routes. Also how about saving POI's to the unit. Any help will be appreciated.

Trip from Columbus, OH to Winchester, VA.

NUVI 3590LM with the maps and system both updated the day before I took the trip.

Was traveling south on I-79 near Morgantown, WV and my route was taking me to I-68 eastbound.

I noticed that when you want to connect your Device to your Computer, while attached to the Express program, you need to Canx (click X in top right hand corner) and you will be free to interface with you Computer

My 2450 uses the powered mount. It is a hassle to get the plug to fit into the mount, because Garmin did not designed a tapered slot in the mount. I have to remove the plug each and every time to store the cable in my case. Is there a cable that will work that instead fits into the small connector at the bottom of the 2450 from a cigarette lighter?

Presently in Florida and heading back to Canada, need info on how to get to Interstate without having to enter a street address. Also, where do I find "fastest way" on my Garmin? thanks

hi i have just got a garmin 2952lmt and put some voices on it , ihave put the vml files into the voice folder and show up on my pc when device is connected so i know they are there but when i go into my device to change voice they are not there or dont show up any ideas

I have discovered that POI Factory cannot be used IF you are using Garmin Express. When you plug the Device into your Co9mputer, it will automatically go to Express and you can't get to POI Factory. I can't find a way to Disable Express so I can use POI Factory, other than Zapping the Express altogether, anyone have any Ideas?

Anyone have this issue? I have lifetime map updates on my Garmin Nuvi 660, and also make sure I use the tools to select only the latest map once it is downloaded and installed.

Yet, every once in a while, when I boot up the unit, it will tell me I'm using older, outdated maps, when there's no way that's the case.

This just a Garmin 'quirk' with some units?

I had a 2012 NA version map in internal memory of my nuvi 1490LMT and a purchased Europe Map on a 4GB SD card. Insufficient space in internal memory or on SD card to update the NA to April 2013 using GE. Bought an 8GB SD Card and NA update worked OK. The update moved the NA map from internal to the SD. Copied EU map to 8GB SD card and nuvi says map is not unlocked.

Newbie here - Does anyone else find that the 1490 screen keyboard needs a lot of pressure to register a key press? I've re-calibrated the screen but same thing. Thanks!

I've got the red-light data loaded into my Garmin. It works perfect and alerts me to all the redlights which is great. What I'm trying to figure out is how do I get the information bar at the top to turn red and display the redlight information that's in the data file.

There are different screen shots on Garmin's web site that show this type of display but I'm not able to figure it out yet.

When lane assist displays the up coming intersection it only appears on screen for about 3 seconds and shuts off. Anyone else had this experience and is there a way to make it display until the interchange has been completed.

I started a previous thread because I thought I may have a Traffic coverage issue specific to Toronto.

I have just received a NUVI 2555LMT and I had no past experience with using traffic and how the 2555 is supposed to operate until a recent trip to Toronto, which should have coverage.

I just got a NUVI 2555LMT and I was recently in the west end of Toronto and expected to get traffic data. I got the Green Traffic Icon, which is supposed to mean that I am receiving a signal and traffic is good. Yellow Means that moderate Traffic, etc. If there is no signal, the ICON is Gray.
