POI missing from brand new Nuvi 50lm

I am in need of help.. I just had my garmin replaced nuvi 50lm and on my old garmin had the POI for the red light camera or proximity points already installed on it. This one doesn't have it. Should I return the unit because I can't find the free POI for the this.
Please help

welcome!!

Welcome to the site. The issue with the camera files may be due to the fact the file on the older unit expired an you hadn't signed up for the program. Garmin wouldn't install the newest file on your replacement unless you had a subscription.

Welcome

Welcome to The Factory,

This link (the free trial version) is likely what Garmin had on your first device so you can just download and install the free trial now and be back to what you had earlier:

https://buy.garmin.com/en-US/US/shop-by-accessories/digital-...

As I understand the free trial version, it will work forever but can not be updated without a paid Garmin subscription.

The other possible alternative is that the file is on your new nuvi but the alerts are disabled in one of your menus. A good start is to download your Owners Manual* now which is much more complete than the Quick Start Guide that came with your 50LM. Check page 20 (and 24) of the manual: Proximity Points Settings.

Alternately, for a small fee right now--or free after you've been here and posted enough to earn your windmill--you can use the POI Factory's Redlight and Speed Cameras files which are constantly being updated. Just click the Red Light & Speed Cameras link on the homepage here:

In the meantime, check out the free POIs, faqs, and forums. The Getting Started and Tutorials are worth reading now so you'll know how to load custom POIs with POI Loader into your nuvi:

Garmin RLC POI

I had the service , i find it terrible. Not many updates or when you have the update i had no idea what did they were updating.I couldn't tell whats going on.I am not positive how Garmin collecting the info on the constantly changing camera locations.I had not trusted their service and i would never sign up with them for that. As you can tell here there are many foot soldiers what is a good advantage so the updates are fast and efficient. I cant remember if they would use the "report camera locations" system or they may have just buying the reporting from an other website and resell it.
