Garmin Express???

The last map update I did (2013.04) on my 750 installed Garmin Express. It has been complaining ever since that I need to allow it to download and install 2013.04. I finally broke down and allowed the installation. It appeared to go off without a hitch.

However we took a trip to the Indianapolis, IN area from our home in NW Ohio. The 750 seems to have forgotten about the newest sections of US-24 between Toledo and Ft. Wayne...showed us driving through fields. I'm going to try to figure out a way to re-re-install 2013.04 using the old program but I was wondering if anyone else has had similar problems with Express?

That garmin express is just

That garmin express is just a mess in my opinion. I have watched update after update after update of the software itself, and they are now at version 2.1.13 I believe. I've seen erroneous data from that saying maps and the device are up to date when they are not. I still use the old method most of the time because that Express is still beta like in my opinion. Disappointing.

Not here

Sorry to hear about your map issues, frustrting, especially given the large file size and time required - good luck. I've been using Garmin Express and have not encountered issues... but hearing more people complain makes me think my time is comming... ugh.

Are you sure it's GE?

I would think that it's not Garmin Express that's the problem, but that it's the maps themselves that are wrong.
BTW, I totally agree with you that GE is a piece of crap. I use Mapupdater to install all of my new maps.

It

It certainly would be strange if a road that was previously in a map update was no longer there and now takes you over fields.

As suggested, I would reinstall the 2013.40 (not 2013.04) map update using Garmin's MapUpdater software and then simulate your route to see if that solves the problem. If not, you could try a hard reset of the Nuvi once you've created a backup as it will delete your favorites.

Would not use the program

There are so many issues about Garmin Express reported on this site.

I never use the program and never have a problem updating firmware or maps on both the gps and my pc.

2013.4 vs 2013.4

Phil, you're right in that the problem is with the map and not Garmin Express. However I updated my 750 to 2013.4 when it first came out using Mapinstaller (or whatever the program is called). That first version had the new roads but this version doesn't.

Yep, did it.

Re-installed 2013.4, same problem. Seems like 2013.4 has been reissued by Garmin as this latest version does NOT have the new roads.

Since the problem is with the map and not the GPS, a hard reset won't fix it. As for the map version number...well I'm sorry I caused confusion with the extra zero.

Interesting

I hadn't heard that there was a later revision of the current 2013.4 but that's the only answer to your issue that I can think of, too.

Now if you made a backup of your nuvi with the first 2013.4, you could just copy its backup map files to the nuvi replacing the later missing-roads files...but then, 2014.10 should be out soon and maybe your roads will reappear on it.
