What do I need to create my routes in Nuvi 760

Since you have the City Navigator maps preloaded on your nuvi, you should be able to get Garmin to send you the maps on DVD for no charge (or for a small shipping charge).

Just call them and ask and you should get it. Tell them that you want to plan routes on your computer and send then to your nuvi and that you want to manage your Favorites.

In the meantime, you can use MapQuest online to create routes and send them to the unit.

Using Mapsource is easier to use with respect to having more desktop map area on which to work as well as the factory installed POIs (and the map is the same as the one on your unit). The concept is similar for both however. The key is to create sufficiently closely spaced waypoints (viapoints) so that the 760 won't interpret a different route between the waypoints than what you want.

With Mapquest, when you drag the line to obtain a waypoint be sure to click on it and make it a "route point". The little red button will turn into a five point star and be assigned a letter similar to your start and end points.

Are you talking about creating routes on your computer or directly in the 760? The 760 lets you create up to 10 destinations on the same route...

The best solution is to order the MapSource DVD from Garmin. Make sure your Nuvi is registered first, though. When I called, they saw my registration and knew what model I had and what maps I had installed and shipped me the DVD with MapSource AND the maps for the computer for something like $10 shipping or so. MapSource just isn't very useful unless you have a copy of the same map on your computer as you have in your Nuvi.
