Garmin: Voice command navigation

I was just wondering..... Do the Garmin Nuvi's with 'voice command navigation' accept manual input (touch screen) while the vehicle is in motion. I believe some built-in (factory) units do not allow input if the vehicle is in motion. I am more interested in the newer/high end models.

Thanks,

Robert

.

Yes, of course they do. When 'safe mode' is off, you can still program it.

Thanks for the information

Thanks for the information Juggernaut.

And....

If you put it in a diesel truck, you may be using the keyboard a lot.

To add a comment to what Juggernaut and azjeffh stated.

To use voice command you must use YOUR VOICE to activate the feature, it remains off unless you do so. As long as "safe mode" is unchecked, all features are availble while the vehicle is in motion.

Diesel Trucks are the Way

I use my 2460 in my loud diesel and in my wife's car and don't really see as much difference on voice commands working as you would think.

Did have something funny happen on our Christmas trip. I call the 2460 Veronica. I say "Hey Veronica" when I want to tell her commands. We listen to an audio book that had a character called Veronica in it and the voice command activated several times during a 7 hour trip. Wasn't till the second or third time that it dawned on me what was happening.

Jim...

no accidental starts

In my 2460 I use Jack for navigating and needless to say the command to activate the voice recognition is "wake up Jack"
