I have compare the 2595LMT and the 2460LMT. But it doesn't tell me which is better. If anybody is using either one can you tell me what if there is any problem with either unit that you don't like.

I'm having a problem with .wav files on my new laptop.

Over the holidays I went to Niagara Falls. I had preprogrammed my route into my GPSr. I usually leave the unit in the glove box and only take it out when I need it. Well on this day when I selected my route on the GPS it stayed in calculating mode for over 40 minutes. I then selected a route that I have gone to in the past and that worked fine.

I'm thinking of purchasing between one of these gps units and would like some feedback from members here on which one they think is better. Thanks.

As much as I like this new unit, there have been some buggy things I can't pin down yet. If you go to Where To and then manually type a POI, later it will leave the history in a blue bar under the area where you typed the name. There doesn't appear to be a way to clear that out. I went through all the Clear Recent menus under Settings, etc. but none of them clear that blue bar.

According to Garmin, there is a feature called safe texting which works via bluetooth to phones that support MAP (Message Access Profile).

Just got a nuvi 2455LMT for Christmas to replace my 255w (which died that same day D:). I never had trouble loading custom POIs on the 255w.

Hello All!

My wife gave me a Nuvi 2555LM for Christmas and I want to add a custom POI file for my job. I downloaded the Garmin file from my company website and it is in GPI format already and the Garmin loader program will not recognize it.(only CSV and GPX files are read by the loader program)

I have a Nuvi 350 and a Nuvi 50 LM

Is there a way to turn off the audio alerts without reloading with POI loader.

I like having rest stops alerted when I go on long trips, but not for general day to day driving.

Now time for the dumb question..(ha). If I load seven destinations into my 750, will I be routed to them in the order I load them in or will the 750 take me to them based on which is closer to my starting point? It is probably based on the order I load them in...but I can wish!!

I am going to honolulu in a couple of weeks.I will be renting a car at the airport.I would like to be able to punch in the address on my nuvi 205 before i leave home.but i cant find the maps for honolulu.when i put in the address it tells me it is unavailable. I should mention that i am not very tech savvy, so any help would be much appreciated.

Hi Guys,

Santa bought me a Garmin 2440.

I was amazed when I turned it on and it found my location while I was indoors.

Does the 2440 use different technology as my old nuvi unit had to outside with a full view of the Sky before it would work.

I've not used it for navigation yet, but the 2440 looks like it's going to be a great piece of kit, plus I get map updates for life.

Is there a place here to find what the latest version of North American updates and when they were issued?

I have the older garmin 760 gps. I found this forum through google search.

Is it possible to download the POI database including the redlight/speed camera into my 760 or Do I need to buy a newer garmin like Garmin 50LM?

what is the maximum size microSD card the 2555lmt takes?

I read through Motorcycle Mama's FAQ on installing .wav files to play alert sounds. Do the newer Nuvi's not play MP3's?

My old sound files do not play so I am assuming that I need to get .wav files installed on this unit?

Can someone confirm this?

Well I pulled the trigger tonight and bought the 3490LMT and of course I'm in the charge up stage right now before I really get into it but from what I can tell so far is that the unit shipped with firmware version 2.60. Does anyone know what the latest version is and if there are release notes indicating the changes?

I have drive for many many years and always I have my Garmin and the Radar laser detector on my windshield.

I upgraded from a Colorado to a Montana. I loaded the same POI file that I used on my Colorado to my Montana. The problem is, some of the icons that I used don't show up properly. For example, I use the "Beer Mug BMP" icon. It does not look like the the icon on my GPS. It looks like it was blown up.

Why would some look fine and some not?

I have created a TourGuide using EPE and saved as Garmin GPX. The proximity distance is indicated in feet. When I open the file in Mapsource, the distance is indicated in miles. I want to change the display preferences in one or the other so that they match. How do I do that?
