Everyone probably already knows this but I was playing around with the new nuvi 205W because I didn't like the icons from the custom loaded CSV files disappearing unless you were zoomed in to 300-500 feet. I noticed the symbols for the manually loaded Favorites were visible when zoomed out.

Hi I just bought the nuvi 255wt. I am new to this. Any suggestions to which POI files I should download? I live near NYC are there red light camera POI files I can download? I am a little confused with how this all works. Thanks

Hello to all at POI Factory site! I need some help because I am not a well versed in computers!

I got a Garmin nuvi 1300 last Thursday, 12/3/09. $149 and free shipping!

Went on a trip Friday, I really like the unit.

On the way back at about 2 PM today, Sunday, the thing goes blank. It's dead.

The light on my car charger is on. I don't see a reset button on this thing.

Just got a new 255W for my daughter. Downloaded "Fifth Third Bank" poi file to computer C:\download\nuvi\Fifth Third Bank\ . When I use the poi loader however, the 1301 bank locations appear on the GPS under Extras\Custom POI instead of in the subfolder Extras\Custom POI\Fifth Third Bank.

Does anybody else have this problem with theirs from Garmin? With the cold weather now it is like a piece if #9 wire. Summer time it's not so bad but has awful memory.

How do I load a GPX vs a CSV. I have used teh CSV files but not the GPX for POI's

I just got my Nuvi 765T out of the box, charged it up and updated the software.

Now, I checked the GPS and it says that I have 2010.10 loaded on it. So, I heard from previous posts that 2010.30 is available but I only get that one free update.

I had an issue with the gps on the last trip.

While traveling with our RV I put alerts on Rest Areas and Tour Guide alerts on all 5 truck fuel stops.

On at least one occasion, Barstow, CA, most of these alerts came up at the same time (intersection of I15 and I40). The screen on my Nuvi 855 froze. The route directions were still being sent through the audio.......

Hi Garmin Users, Just a heads up on downloading Lifetime New Maps, with Vista. After download is complete, when the Launch button is clicked, it may take up to 30 minutes, for Vista to figure out what to do with the large file. I have contacted Garmin, and they said it would be passed on to the programmers, to put a notation by the launch button.

Is it possible to change the colors of the map screen? I had a Tom Tom and liked having the option to change map colors

Does anyone out there have a POI file of the Chico's stores in the US. My wife has been on me to find one, or make one for her. I have checked out there web site, and they do not offer one, so if I can't find one, I guess I will have to start building one.

Is it possible to associate a .jpg image with a POI so that when you get withing the alert range a .jpg would flash on the screen alerting you as well ?

My nuvi 205W only displays a small gray box which is hard to read so I thought if it is possible to have a larger pic pop-up like a splash screen when you enter the alert range, that would be very helpful.

This is suppose to improve your usb transfer.

Hi!

I bit the bullet and replaced my failing 360 with a new 765T. If it's possible, how would I move my Favorites from the 360's internal memory to the 765T?

My downloaded POI's are on a card, but the Favorites are in Garmin's memory.

Is there a way to determine the date a favorite was created on your GPSr? We're trying to figure out when we first visited a certain location and I had sent the address to my Nuvi 260 from Google Maps just before we went there. I still have the location as a favorite.

I've got a Nuvi 255 and have successfully uploaded csv files using Garmin's POI tool (I'm on a Mac, btw) but when I try to upload GPX files I get an error that the folder I"m pointing to has no POI files.

I noticed that no matter how I try to download those files, too, they are xml files, not gpx.

Any pointers out there?

So who here enjoys bigfoot stories and what not? At the begining of the year I worked on some POI files with information that I got from bfro.net (Bigfoot Field Research Organization). They are the locations from all the bigfoot sightings in the USA from the date of the famous Patterson footage location all the way until the begining of 2009.

I wanted to make a simple route on my 1350t with two vias but it lets me only make one. When I make the second one the first one disappears. Is there a way to do this?

So I just downloaded the poi loader from the garmin website so I know I have the latest version of it. For some reason when I load my POI's it locks up when it is trying to load all of them. I have tried to load both directly to the unit (nuvi 205w)and also to the SD card inside of it (1gig free).
