Is it possible to change the colors of the map screen? I had a Tom Tom and liked having the option to change map colors

None at all
There is no option available. WYSIWYG! (Aside from a day or night screen)...

no go on screen color changes
The last post is correct. You cannot change the screen colors, but you can change the backlight intensity. I own a tomtom as well and I too like that feature.
