iOS 14.0.1 released
It certainly did not take long for Apple to need to update iOS 14.0 with some bug fixes.
Earlier this week I downloaded and installed iOS 14.0.1 on my iPhone 8+, and it seems to be working without problems.

Android version 10
Looks like they are stating to put out the software version 10 update for Android. Got it Monday for my 2019 Samsung Galaxy Tab A tablet.

Update to iOS 14.0
Today was update day. 3 updates for windows, 1 update for iPad and 1 update for iPhone. I'm taking tomorrow off

IPadOS 13.7 Installed
Apple has released iPadOS 13.7, which is said to provide some bug fixes.
I have installed it on my 9.7 inch iPad Pro and there are no obvious problems so far.

Just released iOS 13.6.1
Apple has just released iOS 13.6.1 and iPadOS 13.6.1 for all users, just one month after the release of iOS 13.6. The update fixes some known issues related to the Exposure Notifications and another one that could make the displays exhibit a green tint.

Android app to run POI files
I am looking for recommendation for an app to use POI files on an Android phone. The apps I have looked at so far seem lacking. I would like to load the files on the phone and then import the file into the app. My preference is to do this all on the phone, not a webpage. I did a quick search on POI Factory but did not find this posted before. Thank you.

Android Auto after 10.0 update
Some members may have already seen this. My Samsung Galaxy A20 Android phone just got the version 10.0 update today. The first thing I noticed under app settings was Android Auto showing installed. No app was showing on the screen. No option to uninstall but you can disable it. After a little searching found this information below.

Apple has released iOS 13.5.1
Apple has released iOS 13.5.1 for download for iPhone, along with iPadOS 13.5.1, which comes after iOS 13.5 was released on May 20, 2020. iOS 13.5 included Apple's opt-in Exposure Notification API, along with a faster passcode field when you're wearing a mask for those devices with Face ID. Apple also added an option to disable roaming Group FaceTime tiles, along with bug fixes.

iOS 13.5 Released
As the title says, Apple has released an update to iOS. One addition they tout is altering Face recognition to cope with face masks. Since my iPhone 8+ dues not use Face recognition, this is of no interest to me, but Apple says that 13.5 also has (undefined) bug fixes.
Accordingly, I went ahead with downloading and installing iOS 13.5. No negative effects observed so far . . .

Garminfones Repurposed
Given the current COVID-2019 restrictions in place and a chilly weekend here in Minnesota, I found myself digging through my old electronic devices and was brainstorming on how to get some more use out of things that I already own. Almost ten years ago I ended up with three Garminfones. The reviews on them were not good at the time. Despite that, I always thought it was an interesting concept.

Android Tablet For Navigating
My wife and I were traveling in my Ram 1500 pickup for a few hours both
Saturday and Sunday. I still use a Garmin DriveLuxe 51 as my primary navigator. She will often use her smartphone to supplement. She made the comment that she would often like to see a bigger picture when she looks at of our route. I have considered using Industrial

5G Cellular Causing Coronavirus!
These theories have been around for some time and have been dismissed by every study ever done on the subject. The theories however persist perhaps because they are supported by a few notables of the tinfoil hat society.

Android Auto Update Released (version 5.1.5006)
A New Android Auto Version Is Now Available with Highly-Anticipated Improvements. At the time I posted, the update was not on my phone. Seems that update snuck into my phone since making this post. Sneaky.

IOS 13.3.1 released
Apple claims that this release deals with some bug fixes and security improvements. I installed it a few days ago and have not seen it create any visible problems.

What Tablets Should I Consider?
I have owned Android tablets in the past, but I am giving some thought to getting a new one. I am sort of one the fence between getting an Amazon Fire HD 10 and an Android with GPS. It looks like the number of Android tablets has dwindled quite a bit. And the ones that are available are quite a bit more expensive than the Amazon Fire HD 10. I sure wish the Amazon Fire HD 10 had GPS.

Navigating With a Tablet
Years ago, before the advent of dashboard GPS units, I used to navigate with a laptop, Delorme's Earthmate GPS receiver (no screen) and StreetAtlas USA software. That cumbersome rig was eventually replaced by a string of various standalone GPSr's which I use today.
iOS 14.2 - another update
Just did this update. Took about 45 minutes. A little longer than the last couple. Lots of new stuff and more emojis
Apple recently released iOS 14.2 and iPadOS 14.2, the second major updates to the iOS and iPadOS 14 operating system updates that were released in September. iOS 14.2 and iPadOS 14.2 come two weeks after the launch of iOS 14.1.
