Use iPhone 3G as Traffic Monitor

Here's how to use your new iPhone 3G as a GPS traffic monitoring service that has no additional subscription fees (other than the cell service fees you are already paying).

Open the Maps application;
Select the Find current location icon (circle in the lower left corner);
Open the Options icon (lower left hand corner) and select Show Traffic.

iPhone w/ GPS

Is anyone planning on trying the new iPhone that's slated for this month? Supposedly it has a built in GPSr.

iphone 3G with built in GPS chip!

Not sure if you guys caught the Apple announcement yesterday but apparently the new iphone 3G is going to come with a real GPS chip built in, not cell phone tower triangulation.

The thought of having just one device to carry is a dream and maybe the iphone 3G will be the answer to that wish. Thought I would start this thread to collect information.

RUMOR - iPhone to get GPS?

http://gizmodo.com/378648/iphone-to-support-gps-stereo-bluet...

Apparently someone was combing through the firmware code and found "RoleGPS" which some are saying may indicate future GPS support.

Let's hope this is true. - but for know it's just rumor.

iPhone Navigation

I've got a friend who just got an iPhone and he tells me that he's got navigation on it. Does anyone have an iPhone that can verify? If so, how does it compare to a Garmin or other? Can anyone shed any light?
