Google Announces Google Maps Beta Update, Major Android Auto Improvement Likely

"As many users found out the hard way, the voice guidance in Google Maps is sometime broken in Android Auto for a reason that is yet to be determined. More recently, someone has come up with a fix that essentially comes down to disabling voice audio over Bluetooth in Google Maps, pretty much forcing the voice guidance to be directed to your car’s speakers through Android Auto.

While this isn’t confirmed yet, it looks like this new beta of Google Maps finally resolves the problem, restoring voice guidance in Android Auto for everyone."

New Version of Android Auto Released

Too bad, the ability to travel is severely limited. So can't really test it out. Sigh, I suppose we could do it locally. But that would not be fun!

The Latest Version of Android Auto Brings Major Performance Improvements

"Google has released a new update for Android Auto a few days ago, bringing the app to version 5.3. Of course, no changelog was provided, so it was up to users to determine what’s been improved in this new build."

Google must not be pushing this new version out through the Play Store yet. My version is 5.2.501053. When I bring it up in Play Store it does not show that an update is available.

Update

Just updated Android Auto on my motorola G7

Android Auto Quirks to Consider

  1. Cable Quality. I had a cable that become lost. With that cable Android Auto seemed to work (lets say) reliably 80% of the time. That figure is really hypothetical and unscientific. I had also tested with another cable and even reloaded Android auto on my smartphone without any apparent improvement. As a consequence of losing my cable, I bought a new high end expensive cable. Seems that Android Auto is now working much better. Lets say, 90% of the time. Again that is an unscientific anecdotal conclusion. Additionally, Android Auto has had new versions released that could be the basis for the improvement in operation.
  2. Do Not Disturb Mode. Evidently do not disturb mode when active does not allow the smartphone to communicate with the cars in-dash display. Took a long time to figure that one out.

Okay... perhaps I can get some help here... please

Phone: Samsung S22 Ultra...
Android OS: is 14
UI is: 6
Android Auto is: 11:4.640824-Release

I have Android Auto hooked up via a https://www.amazon.com/VeloBlast-Wireless-CarPlay-Android-Ad...

It seems to work, but... apparently not all the apps on the phone are available to be used in the new Android Auto display...

I've several that I'd like to get working but trying to sort out how to get them imported or otherwise made available for Android Auto seems to be a challenge.

One is: Audacy - curent release as of 2024-03-25... but I can't seem to get it to become available in the Android App list...

Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks in Advance.

All help is appreciated.. I'm not a phone kinda guy...
