Magellan talk

I haven't need my gps for awhile and when I turned it on today it does not talk or make sounds while routing me. I ran the audio test, and the audio is working. While I am driving, it no longer says anything and also doesn't beep when I am supposed to turn. Anyone got any ideas on how I can fix this? Thanks

I have to say the redlight and speed camera files are working well in my Magellan 4040.

I put them in and the voice warning said "default category". So I split the files up into two categories, "Redlight Camera" and "Speed Camera" in the Magellan POI loader, and now it says that.

Magellan again has put the map update on sale. However, it is slightly higher than last time (55.99), but now they have reduced it to $49.99

Just noticed and downloaded firmware version 4.85 which took around 3 minutes to download and about the same to install.

I have been running DirectRoute 2 under Vista for about a year. I have Vista set to do automatic updates. One of the recent updates disabled DirectRoute.

I really feel stupid asking this but Magellan support is of absolutely NO help. I have a RM 760. When I try to activate Custom POIs, it says the file isn't loaded. I have the Magellan Roadmate POI manager for conversion of CSV files. But everyone I find on this website has either a GArmin or TomTom download. I assume the formats are different. Or are they?

That part of 1 202 was opened one year ago.
How do I update my 1412 roadmate?

i still have my magellan meridian color and i was wondering if i can put custom pois into the unit like i can with my 255w

How do I assign POI's to the built-in categories?

For instance...I create a POI for a local winery. I woul like it to display only when the "wineries" option is the "Map Setup/Display/wineries" option is checked to display?

Can addtional categories be added to the "Map Setup/Display" list such as "Grocery Stores"?

Is there a default Magellan file that might need editing?

Hello everyone I joined this site a few days ago(I have a Garmin) & think it's great.I paid my $20 & think it's well worth it. I've downloaded a few files & everything seems to be working great. My son has a magellan3140 & was wondering if he can download files for his magellan through my membership? Just asking.

I want to create a CSV to be able to import in to a colleagues Magellan Roadmate 1412 (using Magellan's software). However I cannot find the CSV file field format.

I need to know what items need to appear in what order in the CSV and what items I can put into the file to display.

Longitude? lattitude? Name? Address? Phone?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hello folks I just join this site so please bare with me. I have a Mag 3140 & I'm wondering if I donate my $20 will there be a file for my gps for the redlight cameras in Calgary ? Also I'm not that tech savy (yet)& was wondering how hard it is to put this kind of file on my 3140. Thanx in advance

Folks Im new to this sorry.

Ive got a Magellan Maestro 4040 and have a list of National Parks and other various sight seeing places in a word document. Some have address, some have latitudes and longitude coordinates and some only have the city name.

Example: Albuquerque Rio Grande Zoo

Albuquerque, NM 87102

My 7th ave location on my 6000t voice says beardsley rd after I installed the files.( Phoenix Arizona area )
Can someone help.

Can anyone tell me definitely if custom poi files can e used on the Maestro 4370?

I now Magellan has poi editor software, but some sources tell me that it is not compatible with the 4370.

I understand that the Roadmate 800 came with two CD's of software: one for MP3's and so forth and one for loading custom POI's into the device.

Does anyone know how I can get a copy of the CD's, especially for loading of custom POI's? I recently inherited this device when a relative passed away and have not been able to locate any disks that came with the unit. Thanks.

I just checked the AAA website and found they do have Tourbook Updates for the 4350 & 4370 units. You must be a AAA member with website access to get the update. By the way AAA does not mention this on the entry screen: www.aaa.com/gps. You must go through the log in screens to the download page to see that they have updates for this model.
