Magellan again has put the map update on sale. However, it is slightly higher than last time (55.99), but now they have reduced it to $49.99

Save your money. These are the same maps that came with my RM1412 last June. Version 31 is at least a year old.

For a lot of folks, the version being replaced is about THREE years old. Everything is relative !!

What I like about this site is being able to find out information and what is available. This was the logic behind posting this version was on sale. And as the previous poster stated, this could be of value to many people with order units.

Yes, for many - this is good to know.
I am wondering though - it seems that when they mark the price down, it could be to reduce/eliminate stock. Sort of indicating that an even newer version is on the horizon.
You never know - it could happen.

Just got a new RM1412 today and the maps are now version 33. But, Magellan doesn't list any updates for the original (10 months old) units. So why spend the money for version 31?
You don't need to update
The above mentioned update is mostly for older units with map version 29 or even older.
That's an interesting information that there's map version 33.
