POI projects

I have a Garmin Nuvi 360, and when I search for DMV locations, I cannot find any. I have to go online to get the address and type it in myself. I cannot find the option in any of the preset things.... or seaching for text DMV. Does anyone know the correct search terms for this so I can find the closest DMV without going online?

I just completed my first POI, consisting all the Apple Store locations in the US. It's available now, so check it out, and if anyone notices anything wrong, or suggestions to make them better, let me know!

Has anyone every discussed putting something like this http://www.nws.noaa.gov/nwr/nwrbro.htm in a custom POI file? If not, does anybody think it would be worthwhile?

I know that others have posted AM and FM radio station files, but has there been any thought to posting TV station POIs?

When we travel we have a convertor that allows us to hear TV audio through our AM/FM radio. Locally, we know where to tune, but when we are traveling it is a little more difficult because the convertor requires that you enter the channel number on the keypad.

Jmarqua has put together a file that has over 500 drive in locations covering the US and Canada in raw form that is ready to be processed into longitude latitude coordinates so that we can get it into the database. Any volunteers send me an email and I will set you up with the file.

To help those creating files on wifi locations, I came accross a site: http://www.hotspothaven.com/ which is a database of over 55,000 sites. You can download an executable to your computer which will maintain a lookup on your PC, plus you can go back to the web and update the list at any time.

Hi, I'm new to this whole thing. Can anyone tel me if I can load Topo west software onto my C530.. Is it possible to buy it and down load it onto an SD card and then into the c530..Any help would be appreciated.

I've gathered up a list and am in the process of
mapping them out. Any help would be appreciated.

Currently, I have 39 Locations.

I got a list of what I believe is all Toyota Dealers in the US from Toyota.com. I'm converting this list for my Nuvi 350 but have about 30 entries that I have not been able geocode to latitude and longitude. Could I post these 30 dealers here for help in geocoding?

New here and a year new to GPS. My big project is to create a list of all Masonic Lodges and all Shrine Centers in the U.S. So far, I have all of the Shriners Hospitals done plus New Hampshire and Massachusetts Masonic Lodges complete.

I submitted my truck weigh stations 2 times already and vanty find them anyplace yet. The first time was like 5 days ago. I was wondering if I have it in the right format or if they will get used if I have to keep going with them. Right now I only have all of saskatchewan and some Alberta but am working on all of Canada.

We are intent on making a file or 3 of haunted sites in Texas - plus the ones we have actually been to personally - or even try a general file of sites in the US.

I have found one or two FREE websites that roughly show lat. and long. - or I can go and buy a DeLorme map ($150) to get exact info. The alternative is to visit EVERY site, including those already been to - this may take a while.

do anybody have any redlight cameras or speed cameras in the washington dc or maryland area

does anyone have poi's for koa campgrounds in the u.s.

Does anyone have a POI or a computer list of all VA Hospitals in the USA.

has anyone seen any POI files for the 2007 Tour d'France route (starting in London; stage one to Canterbury) or even a route file, by stage?

Is there a way to upload POI's to Mapsource? Either from a PC file (.csv) or from a Garmin GPS (currently using a Zumo 550)?

Brott, thanks for sharing your Atlanta POI files. I used them while there, specifically for an Applebee's one night, and they worked well!

I'm somewhat new to this and am still learning. I downloaded some POI files and have noticed that many of the files now show a "Last Updated" date after my download. Should I continue to download the files and override my current files to ensure I have the most recent version?
