POI projects

Another unnamed POI list red light cameras at -71.09412 42.37907 "Prospect & Somerville" in Somervile, Massachusetts... there are no cameras there. Go figure!

Hi, I'm looking for better POI files for retail locations for my Tomtom 910. The POI file for retail locations I downloaded from TomTom's website is missing many well known stores and restaurants.

I am considering creating a POI file showing locations of caves and caverns in the US. Does anybody here know if it has already been done or if there is likely to be any interst at all in something like this?

I just uploaded a POI file for the Minnesota Twins Radio Network. Does it get reviewed before being listed in the files section?

Cool site you have here! Had I realized how useful POI files were, I'd have upgraded my GPS a long time ago. I found the site yesterday and have downloaded several files. Hopefully I can contribute back to the group.

I am new to the site. What I am acutally looking for is the creator of the Home Depot POI files in Canada or Ontario, Canada. I do work for Home depot and Home depot Supplies (contract) and would like to help them update the files with more current new stores.

Why are some of the states broken up into 2 or 3 files? It would be helpful to have that information in the description. If they were only partially completed when you uploaded them, and you added the missing ones, you can contact Miss POI and have her replace the partial file with a new, complete one.

I am interested in assembling a list a scenic places to stop for motorcylists. I.E. Overlooks, waterfalls within a short walk of parking area or viewed from road, biker friendly establishments, ice cream shops. Basically places to take a group for a rest stop while out enjoying a day ride, or weekend trip. Or even unique destinations.

While many people would like to only load a limited POI file size on their unit, others (like myself) are lazy and would rather just load the entire US and have coverage wherever I go. I would like to request that if someone is providing POI's in multiple state format that they also provide an additional file where they are all combined.

Due to the apparent amount of interest in this POI (172 downloads already) I figured it would be a good idea to get a forum topic going on it for additions or corrections.

Again, I will state here that this file's use is totally the responsibility of the user. I make absolutely no claim to its height or location accuracy. The file is to be used as a guide ONLY!

I am training for the San Diego Marathon on June 3rd, and I am starting to get a little board of my normal running routes, does anyone have POI files for running routes near Pasadena Ca or anywhere in the Los Angeles County area?

Right now we get constant updates to the Redlight camera POI files. But, who is responsible for the rest of the POI files that were created by each contributor?

There are few POI files that I have downloaded but since I live in a rapidly growing part of Atlanta, new POI's have been created.

Anyone have a POI list they're keeping of CompUSA stores?

The job just got easier - as an article posted on digg.com says CompUSA is closing 128 stores. The 100 to remain open are listed at http://www.compusa.com/locations/store.asp

I'm new to the world of GPS, and would like to know if there is a place I can download a POI file, into my brand new Garmin Nuvi 660; for the locations of rest areas on the interstates.
I deliver new trucks all over the country and am looking forward to using my new "toy".

As we get more and more files uploaded to this site, I was wondering if JM has the capability (or interest) to breakdown some of the groups into subgroups. For example, with all of the files for Lexus dealers, perhaps they could go into a subfolder within Auto/Cycle dealerships. The same for the radio files, ie perhaps broadcast and Ham as subfolders.
