Best Western USA Missing Half of Locations?

Something seems wrong with the Best Western USA POI files. In the list of updates, it shows that 960 locations were removed but only a handful were added. When downloaded to my Garmin, it only lists locations within 142 miles from my home in Michigan. Can anyone help with this?
Thanks1

When accessing a custom POI file with your Garmin device, it will only show the nearest 50 locations. I'll make a guess that you have 50 Best Westerns within a 142-mile radius.

If you go into simulator mode, then set a location in another state, a different set of 50 nearest locations will appear.

Even though 960 locations were removed last summer, the file still has 963 individual points:

Includes 963 locations in the following areas:

United States: AK, AL, AR, AZ, CO, DE, FL, GA, HI, IA, ID, IL, IN, KS, KY, LA, MA, MD, ME, MI, MN, MO, MS, MT, NC, ND, NE, NH, NJ, NM, NV, NY, OH, OK, PA, RI, SC, SD, TN, UT, VA, VT, WA, WI, WV, WY
some may be in: CA, DC, MEX, ON, OR, TX (near a border)

It may be that your Garmin device, when on a route, will let you search for a Best Western either based on where you are now, based upon your destination, or along the route.

I say may be because I can't remember if all Garmin offer that, and even if they do, does it apply to Custom POIs or does it only apply to other searches?

Yes, Craig. As far back as I

Yes, Craig. As far back as I remember they do offer, and will allow Destination, Along, and nearby on Customs. As long as you are routing.

Thanks. I used to be more confident of my thoughts but as Garmin introduced more and more GPS models and so many of these new models lose features that earlier ones had as well as changing procedures to accomplish a task, while also adding new features, I've become more cautious. rolleyes confused redface
