Abandoned places in the southwest

Hey everyone......in case you haven't seen or found it yet, I recently started a new POI project that will be a constant work in progress. I'll be adding and updating the file on a sporadic basis, as I find different locations. Some of them I have personally been to, and taken photos of...others are on my "to do" list. Currently there are a little over 40 locations in the file. It's mainly covering abandoned places (motels, gas stations, diners, etc), as well as ghost towns, Indian ruins, and other strange things out there. If you're a road warrior/explorer (like me), this will definitely be of interest. Hope you like it.

Cheers!

A couple requests of you, br66. Maintainers of POI files, FAQs, etc. should consider allowing users at The Factory to contact the POI/FAQ creator by email with additions, corrections or other thoughts. Your account currently does not allow Contacts to be sent to you. It's just a suggestion and is not a requirement.

Allowing contacts does not reveal your email address to the sender. A message sent to you though will give you the contacters email address and if you reply, that person will be able to see your email address.

One last issue is that private emails sent via The Factory's Contact button are oftentime falsely identified by ISPs and email software to be spam so you should occasionally check your spam folder for messages.

PS: Until last October, I lived just a quarter-mile south of 66 in Flagstaff.

Note taken, and made that adjustment to allow contact from others. Flagstaff is a pretty cool town...I haven't had much time to do any exploring around there....only Winslow, and a few other towns.

Ah, Winslow, home of Standin' on the Corner Park and the old Harvey House La Posada with its great architecture, furnishings, art and The Turqoise Room with seasonal deep fried squash blossoms, pretty much always-available prickly pear cactus bread pudding and breakfasts where I had to choose between the Corn Maiden's Delight and the Arizona Green Chile Eggs. I do miss my visits there.

Speaking of green chile and eggs...Jose' and Aggies diner in Holbrook has some wicked good food. I had the chance to stop in there a few months ago for breakfast.

The chopped steak and eggs were dang good....both were smothered in green chile....couldn't ask for better road food.
