Any implications for Garmin and our Map updates?

Yesterday I drove east at 9AM on the Belt Parkway, Southern State Pkway, and LIE going to Riverhead. The sun was coming directly into the car through the front windshield and striking me almost head on. The reflection of the sunlight from my close bouncing back onto the NUVI TOTALY washed out the screen and made it impossible to read.

On another thread, "Sellador" posted about some Garmin Compatible open source maps available of NZ at http://gwprojects.orcon.net.nz/gps/
He posted "There's some question about them working with the Nuvi line, but it's mostly that no one there has tried, and it's worth a look before spending so much on the commercial ones."

I got some of this thing figured out, but i am doing it the hard way, I got a poi file, opened it up in excell and modified it, along with the corordence with goggle earth, but am doing all this long hand, is there a easier way to do this, it works ok when i plug in the s/d card, i have read in the forums that you can do something like what i am looking for by exporting the info you need thru

My c550 makes a sound after I installed the red camera file but no icon comes up where should the Icon's go for that file ? Newbie Bscott022

A couple of years ago, after an 11 hour tour of the state fair, my daughter and I found it almost impossible to find our car in the mist of 1000's of cars in an unmarked grass parking lot. It took us 1 1/2 hrs to finally find our car.

Having recently been out of touch for about a week, I have some comments about the functionality of the marking unread messages as read function. Having over 7 pages of messages, it would have taken me days to read them all, and there are many that I wasn't interested in, based on the title.

1. Marking unread messages as read is a time saver.

The traffic camera POI list in my area includes a number of intersections that do not have redlight cameras. Perhaps someone mistook the emergency vehicle RF receivers for cameras - they look like thin security cameras and usually sit over an intersection. Shall I report these to someone?

I watched a video about the Garmin 680 on CNET.com. When they showed the MSN screen page, the traffic, weather, gas and movie icons each had the number "100%" displayed on their respective icon. I'm guessing it represents the percentage of downloaded data for each category. My 680 doesn't display that. Is that a feature of the 2008 mapping software? I'm still running V8.

Why Is it that if your gps takes you from Point A To Point B the fastest route then why when you want to return from Point B to Point A why does it want to route you a whole different way (So Then why wouldn't it take you back the same way you come if that is the fastest way)

What are the chances that you can modify the site so when you click on a link, it opens another window. That way, we can alway go back to the original page that we were on without going back back back.

Seeking listings for all states AL Post locations

When I download a .csv file to my Nuvi 200, POI Loader indicates that the poi's were successfully installed. However, when I try to retrieve them from the Nuvi I get the following message, "No Matches Found". I don't have a problem with .gpx files. What am I missing? This seems so trivial.

Is it possible to have the red light camera spreadsheet translate back to addresses to download?
I could use this to know that camera locations I see are new or old, so that I can submit the new ones.

I am not by any way more than the most casual type of Excel file user. Therefore if this question is off the mark I plead ignorance in the use of Excel.

I opened the latest Red Light Camera file to see if I could edit the file to have only the locations in NYC and NJ. To my surprise I saw that the individual locations are not in any specific order but are grouped in random order.

When I download a .csv file to my Nuvi 200 the POI loader says that the pois were successfully created. However, when I try to access them through the custome poi icon on my Garmin I get the following error message,
"No Matched Found". What does this mean? and How can I correct it? Where did the POI's go?
