POI icons

This maybe already answered somewhere but I couldn't see it. Anyway, after you download a POI icon and transfer it to your GPS are you able to then check the map and see it? For example can I view the icon for a rest area that is at the other end of the country?
you can only see the icons
you can only see the icons that are on the map when you are zoomed in to the area that you are currently driving in.

you can browse the map to the location that you are interested in. As MP said, you have to be zoomed in like 300 to 200 ft to see them.

At least on my c550 I'd think your Nuvi should react the same.
If you assign a bmp to a custom poi, then go to "Extras", "Custom POIs" then select one, then select "Map" you should see the icon, regardless of zoom level, zoom out to 500mi if you like.
If in "Browse Map" mode or "Nav" (driving) mode Then you must be zoomed in to 300ft or closer.
