Open Source Nautical Charts

I am becoming interested in open source nautical charts. I know that Open Sea Maps are one of them. Does anybody here have any other open source nautical charts that they use?

Crash Detection Apps

There was a news item yesterday outlining how a crash detection app on her IPhone 14 saved a young girl's life after a serious crash. Thy phone called her Emergency Contact, which was her parents, in this case and gave them GPS coordinates that narrowed the search dramatically.

Comparison Of Web Map Services

What is your "go to" for on-line maps?

For many of us it may be Google maps.

They aren't the only choice.

The information that the first URL brings you to is a bit dated, though.

Installing New POI (2020 Jeep Compass)

I have a Jeep Compass 2020 can anyone help me, I want to install extra POI to my navigator but it doesn't recognize my USB. I used POI Loader
and the POI's I get from here. I also remove garmin name from the file on the USB. That how I did it for my 2011 Jeep but it doesn't work for my 2020.

when does time > money

Almost 10 years ago, someone 57 yo said he retired at 53, using the rule of 75.

I joked I'll be working until I'm 80.

He took that statement seriously, and explained to me, this concept of time being more valuable than money, at some point. Everybody's different.

I've seen my employer go from 700 mil to 5 bil in revenue, with the Dave factor kicking in.

Bear007 recently started a thread describing a map update problem he was having with his Zumo 665.

What Is Your Go To For POIs When Traveling?

As posted above, what is your "go to" for POIs when traveling? Say you are looking for a gas station or a restaurant. Do you check your Garmin GPS first, Google maps or something else? Are there certain POIs from here that you regularly download to keep up-to-date on certain favorite things?
