Yesterday I received a telephone call from a phone spammer telling me I was late paying my TV bill. I immediately sensed this guy was a scammer but I toyed with him for a bit.

I went to post a topic in the Open Talk forum that had four paragraphs. During the preview process I get a warning that shows my topic will be published as a trimmed version with one paragraph that includes two abbreviated sentences. The two sentences won't cover the topic at hand.

What up with this?

This week we're recognizing dutcherp5.

He's maintaining 13 files, including some very familiar names like Travelodge, Kroger Stores, and Howard Johnson's.

This past week, he posted another update to the Motel Six file (updated 5 times so far this year) and also reported a change to Speedway Gasoline (which is maintained by ajasaro).

For example, we all know amazon is pretty bad. And I've been a shareholder since 1998 (how's that feel in the last 1 1/2 years?). One day something purchased is $179 on a lightning deal. The next week it's $159 on a regular deal. Yesterday $129. This is BAU for amazon today to move wares.

A long time member of our POI Factory community, Soberbyker is battling Cancer.

I signed up for Upside, because I wanted to get a 30 cent/gal gas discount blah blah blah here in PA.

But it also had restaurant and supermarket discounts of 5% and 6%, plus another $10 bonus.

What a miserable task....filing my 2022 federal & state Income taxes! Today, I figured was the day to stop putting off the task as the deadline will be upon us before we know it. It took me about fours hours of abject misery but I slogged through it and finished by e-filing. Whew! If it wasn't so early in the day, I would reward myself with a cold 16 oz. Coors Light beer.

If a driverless electric vehicle gets pulled over by the police, who gets the ticket? Interesting read:

For that matter, how do they pull it over in the first place?

The POI Factory website was unreachable for about 1.5 hours due to an outage at our web hosing company. The outage started at about 9:40 pm Eastern and ended at about 11:10 pm Eastern.

The web hosting company indicated a number of their customers were affected but did not provide any additional details about the outage.

To my 9 y.o.

He knows a lot of tunes and surprises me, so why not?

I think this is not a popular thing for kids his age and likely many think it's not a worthwhile way to spend one's time in 2023 (why learn an instrument when an iPad sounds better, or World of Warcraft has a new module coming out).
