Yet another map error headache
Seems that another map error is causing grief.
See:
http://www.dailypress.com/news/york-county/dp-nws-yorktown-p...
When an obvious error is causing problems, then why can't the map supplier give that a high priority?
Then you have the folks that don't have a clue that the maps can and should be updated every now and then.

Navigation
Which navigation system seems to be the best one? Has anyone tried the Escort IQ Navigation/Radar detector device?
If you think your Nav is really good please share what type you have, how long you've had it and what is good and bad about it.

Labeling POI's
I am a volunteer fireman and have created a POI file with all the hydrants in our fire district. We have installed Garmin GPS's in each fire truck which displays the location of the hydrant on the map. I would like to display not only the hydrant but also the street address where the hydrant is located on the map. Is there a way for me to add this info to the map?

leaving GPS / electronics in hot car
So it is getting pretty darn hot here in Arizona, close to 110F or so. I usually park my car in the shade or garage, but there have been more than a few times where I had to leave my GPS in the glove box, trunk, etc., as I run errands.
Have not had issues yet, but I can't help but think that kind of heat must be bad for the GPS, right?

Hello to the people of this forum.
I'm new to the forums specifically, though I've had an account with this site for quite longer. And it's been quite some time from making an account here and this topic here. Which seems somewhat wrong.
So again to reiterate, hello folks!

Hello and Welcome...
Well... as it states, Hello.
We just purchased a Garmin Nuvi-1450.
I just figured out how to get the POI files with sound and custom icon installed.
Now I'm looking to learn more about creating the custom POI files; however, the discussions and instructions are occationally disjointed. SO, can someone here point me in the right direction?

Is anyone subscribed to EZ-Pass in a different state than the one they live in?
Hi,
We live in Maryland, where O'Malley started charging us a $1.50/month "administrative fee" for absolutely nothing, so we canceled our EZ-pass. We use it enough that we'd like to pick one up again but only if there is no fee involved, so I've been looking at neighboring states' EZ-Pass programs.

Dell Streak (Mini 5) As Vehicle GPS
I am considering buying a used Dell Streak (Mini 5), buying the vehicle mount, adding ALK CoPilot navigation onto a micro SD, and using this as a vehicle GPS. Can anybody here tell me if that would make a good vehicle GPS? Also, I would probably get it carrier subsidy unlocked and install a T-Mobile prepaid SIM card as a backup. Plus, the T-Mobile SIM card should allow access to a few websites.
Android tablets
Picked up the Android Toshiba Thrive Tablet a few days ago.Only has wifi.Been playing around with the navagation. It seems to work as long as you don't leave the route.Once you do you have to re-set from another wifi connection. See http://www.nothingbuttablets.com/2921 .Wondering if anyone else has any feed back on navagation on other tablets with wifi.Or using something other then Google.
