Thread Sorting

The current thread sorting scheme is to show first records of the thread first. That makes for a very bad experience. Some of the threads are many pages long. Getting to the current revelent data is a pain.

I would like to see the entries of a thread sorted by current date to first date. It's a really pain to get to the revelent data of a ten page thread. It requires much activity to get to the last page.

I prefer first to last thread data. Different strokes, I guess.

You may want to use the "unread posts" feature on this site. It's the third option under your user name on the right. It will present a list of unread threads and when you select a thread it will automatically take you to the first unread post within the thread.

You can also exclude unwanted forums so they don't clutter the unread posts list using Forum Preferences (Favorite/Hide)

.

As GadgetGuy2008 has indicated, the combination of "unread posts" and "Recent posts" (with the subcategory of "my recent posts" works in a way that the OP should like after trying it a while.

I had similar feeling to the OP until I discovered the options available.

Unread Posts

I use Unread Posts all the time. It brings me right to the first unread post in each topic. If I need to, I can scroll back to refresh my memory.

But why

But why is this the only forum I'm a member of that will ALWAYS take you back to the first page after you make a post to a multi page thread.

Unfortunately, it's a quirk of the web platform we're using. I find that frustrating too. I have my eyes peeled for a solution if one turns up.

For the most part, I use the already suggested "unread posts" plus "Mark topics in ALL FORUMS as read" after I finish reading the items of interest to me.

ditto
