map update splash screen

My garmin 350 ver 8 occasionally will alert with a splash screen that a new update map is available.
Is there any way to permanently disable this?
Note: I have no need to upgrade the maps on this unit.

There's no way to disable it. However, it will eventually go away on it's own.
