Garmin talk

I have an oddity going on -- but it's probably only odd to me! I saved my waypoints from MapSource to a .gpx file, then loaded it into GSAK. The waypoint names show up in the "code" column, and the "Waypoint Name" shows things like 29-Jan-05 9:16:08AM".

Is there a way to square this away???

This gives neat info like location elevation and icons to find nearest police, hospital and fuel. Wouldn't it be nice if additional icons were available their for food, attractions, etc.

Sure would save time from going back to the main menu - where to? - poi's -etc...

I Updated the new map, when i engage the address icon, it comes up no map data available. When I hit the icon points of interest, and one of the icons, food, fuel, transit, lodging, shopping, etc. it says no map available. Does anyone know how to fix this problem.

Does anyone have this Nuvi and what are your thoughts?
How much internal memory does the nuvi 3490 lmt have?

I have the Nuvi 1350T which does not have Junction View, but it does show the Lane Assist which have the highlighted arrows on the upper left corner to indicate which lane you should be in.

My question is, the Lane Assist data, is it inside the gmapprom.img/gmapsupp.img or the Lane Assist data in the same *.JVC file which also contain the junction view data?

How do I back up my favorites from GPS to computer? Which file and where is it located?

Is it possible to change the Bong sound when the Junction View comes up to something else???

Hello all, I use my route feature on my nuvi 1490lmt quite a bit and never had problems. Since I did the last firmware & map update (NA 2012.30), I cannot delete programmed routes. The unit just freezes up when I press delete and I have to restart the unit.

Someone posted a question regarding using new traffic receivers on old units. Since I had the equipment on hand, I thought I'd try an experiment.

Academy has 2350 LMT this week for 139.99.
I bought one a month ago for 157.00.
Price dropping fast.

I updated the 2350LMT because the dashboard said an update was available. After going through the process, restarting the 2350, it was detected and the dashboard said an update was available. Repeat 3 more times, and finally the dashboard said software is up to date.

Now it says another map is available, this would be the 3rd since July? LOL

I have my 765t since shortly it came out and it has served me well and I want to keep it a while longer. I noticed some yellow spots on the frame now. I tried to clean then off with some alcohol but it didn't work. Did this happened to anybody and did you find a way to clean them up?

I just returned from a trip Toronto – Florida – Toronto using my son’s Nuvi 1350lmt and thought I would share some of my impressions about the 1350 in comparison to my own 750.
First thing I noticed was the screen was not as bright as the 750 and noticeably more difficult to see in bright sunlight but not a deal breaker if I were to buy one.

On my new Nuvi 3490, there is no "Stop Route" button on the main page. There was one of those on all the other Nuvis, is mine defective or is it the way it is with this new one?

I was traveling the other day from Baltimore to NC and I got several side by side views (drive screen and reality screen) while in landscape mode. In MD they only work in portrait mode and when in landscape mode they switch instead of side by side.

I just downloaded a few POI icons from the POI Factory and am pretty sure I followed the instructions on the site to install them on my gps, however no icon shows on the screen for the location when I map to it. Am I doing something wrong or am I expecting something to happen before it should be happening? I have done this on both a 1390 and a 1490. The locations show, but no special icon.

I have Win7 that I have been connecting to regularly with the zumo 660 for the last 11 months. Recently it takes 3 or more attempts before it will connect. The green eject icon shows in the system tray and then disappears and the zumo boots up in normal map mode. I hold the on/off button for 8 seconds and get the soft reboot and usually after 3 attempts or more it will connect.

Yesterday I rec'd an email stating there is a map update available.

In the past, folks on here have downloaded these updates only to find glitches and some go back to the older version maps.

If anyone has any feedback on any of these updates, it would be good to know if they are worth downloading or if we should wait 'till they work out the bugs (if any).

I bought one, love it. There are two issues, I cannot eject the GPS (Windows see it but does not show the eject option), MapSource does not see it either. BaseCamp see it but I don't see an option in base camp to load or download from the unit.

Please help
