Garmin talk

I connected my Garmin Nuvi 3597 to my computer and tried to use MapSource, but I had no luck. The cable is good because I was able to use Garmin Express. I recall reading something about Garmin MapSource in the past. Is the Garmin 3597 not compatible with MapSource? Do I have to use Garmin BaseCamp now?

bought wife a new 50lm for xmas . I also bought her a 8gb micro sd card ( my tomtom wont do new maps because of space ).what would you put on the sd card to save space on her garmin for the map updates ?

Not clear who's warranty it is though.

I recently received a 2597 to replace my 855. On the 855 I could to to /settings/My Data/Import Route(s) From A File to import a route I had uploaded from MapSource. I can't seem to locate a similiar function on the 2597. Any suggestions?

I was thinking today about the various connected features we have today and what we had in the past. So, since Garmin XT was something I used on a phone several years ago, I decided to take a look at http://www8.garmin.com/buzz/mobilext/ We had Garmin OnLine, fuel prices, flight status, weather, traffic, etc.

Since getting my new Garmin Nuvi 3597 recently, I have been brain storming to make sure that I do everything I need to do to get it up to date. So far, here is a laundry list of things I have done, or will do, after getting a new Garmin:

-Update to current firmware

-Update to latest maps

-Delete non English voices

-Delete non English keyboards

I just downloaded the latest redlight camera file and noticed that the 4 Oldsmar fl cameras are missing or maybe I'm not seeing them?
They were there a couple weeks ago.

I would like to configure my Garmin Nuvi 3597 so that it does not auto zoom. I just want it to stay at whatever setting I select. Does anybody know if this is possible?

I know that on some Garmins it was an option if I selected the UK or some other non-United States country. Could this still be possible?

I am looking for a protective case for my Garmin Nuvi 3597. I know that there are lots of cases available, but I am specifically looking for the type that is similar to a cell phone protective case that would allow it to be used when navigating on foot, I seem to recall seeing one somehwere recently, but I can't for the life of me seem to find it on line right now.

Just got a Nuvi 2597, however the internal drive and SD don't show up on my PC as drives, but rather as Protable Devices. (With my 855, showed up as drives J and K.

Comments?

I have a 1450 and really like the security PIN feature. I don't see anything like it on a new 65LM. Did I miss it or is Garmin not putting that feature on anymore? If the latter is the case are there any add-ons that would add some sort of security?

As you can see from the subject, I pulled a bone head move.
I was formatting my camera sd card (or so I thought) and it wiped the Garmin 3790LMT instead.
Before I removed it from the computer I read in one of these forum posts that I should try and use "Express" to see if it can correct things... Well, it did. To a point.

Dunno if or how good this price is, but its being offered for $319.99 U.S.D.

After carefully editing my GPX files just the way I want them to play particular proximity sound alerts, I went on a trip and my Nuvi 755 would only play its default built-in double beep for each and every one.

when I plug into lighter my Garmin 2555 shows being hooked to the computer. it might show that for a bit then do what it should for while then go back like plugged into computer Hope someone has a thought on this that might help me out.
