Trying to find device ID

Hey everyone

I'm trying to find the device ID with G7towin for my Nuvi 1490 to start with a recovery, whenever I've tried it it says file specified not found or connection timed out. I need the device ID to get started with Garmincure.

Any ideas? Other programs that may work, or other methods?

GarminDevice.xml

The id may be in this file.

If you have a backup, you could look there.

Have You Ever Done A Map Update?

If done with GarminMapUpdater, check for "Unit ID" in the log file called SetupLog.txt (location varies depending on version of Windows used, so you may have to search for it).

The problem might be with your version of G7toWin. Support for the program stopped in 2012 but this site may offer some suggestions:
