Garmin talk

As a geocacher I download cache page information (and coordinates) from the geocaching.com site to my Nuvi 750. After downloading the information ends up in the GPX folder in the nuvi. So far so good. I understand that these GPX files then end up being displayed as "Favorites" in the Nuvi. However some of the GPX files stored in the Nuvi are not displayed on the "Favorites" menu.

I just bought a 3790LMT (4.3” 800 x 480 pixels) and I find the screen to be very clear and sharp. I notice when the GPS goes into split screen before exiting, I find it a little difficult to read the Exit Signs.

Now I’m considering retuning the unit and buying the 2595LMT (5” 480 x 272 pixels).

This may be old news to the pros out there but I bought a Nuvi 2555 LMT and whent to use Mapsource to program it. Spent three days playing and testing and will share this with you:

#1: Mapsource will not recognize new Nuvi's. You must use Base Camp.

2. You can move waypoint list from Mapsource to an old Nuvi (mine is a 255W) or or ohter mapsource compatible GPS then load to Base Camp.

I'm stuck.

I disabled the Junction View file on my new 2595 (because I don't like JV) and wanted simulate a route through a local interchange so I can confirm the file has been disabled and doesn't mess up the map display.

Do you have to paid $89 to Garmin every time you need upgrade a USA maps or is any other way????

Greetings Fellow Members;I have tried not to create a motion about water under the bridge, but hopefully we could cure or live with this minor bump.

All of a sudden, when I powered my NUVI 40 on, all I get is the "GARMIN" and the blue triangle. Won't hard reset, and my PC does not find it.

No problems installing 5.80 from ver 5.50 directly from my garmin dashboard. Will see later this week if it addresses many of the usability issues (such as tracback, intelligent navigating from imported tracks etc)

I have a Garmin Nuvi 2555LMT. I am trying to create a route in MapSource, or Basecamp to import into the GPSr. Can the 2555LMT import routes from the computer?

I created a GPX files and I would like to include icons on files instead of dots. How do I go about it. Anyone can help me that would be great.

Has been suggested I give to my worst enemy, which one, hard to choose.

My nuvi 750 is not working correctly. After start up you can only touch the sceen about 3 or 4 times and it locks up. No more touches of the screen do anything. Unplug and no stay on/turn off message comes up, just shuts off. I did get it to find a location but as soon as "jill" told me where to go that's all just froze. Any ideas?

I am posting the following information so that it may benefit anyone that may need to organize their map data on a MicroSD card. This information was based on trial and error in addition to posts from this and other GPS user group sites. I do not claim to understand or know about any established or "official" file structure rules, but can attest that the following does work with my 1490T.

Looking at live traffic at Navteq, I see the following picture:

Then on my Garmin 765t with working Navteq traffic subscription, and with traffic icon on the screen, I create directions that go through the streets that on the image above are yellow, those in the triangle in the center (Milwaukee - Harlem - Oakton)

I've searched and can't find anything, is there a comparison chart somewhere that compares different automobile Garmin GPS receivers and their features?

Now I know there are Posts and maybe a FAQ to give me instructions to install the NA 2013.20 Map to my Nuvi 2455LMT but I just cant find it for the life of me...

If someone could point me to the right posts/faq/etc... I would be most appreciated!

City Navigator North America NT 2013.20 - MAP+3D+HT+PA+P, July 12
with a lifetime subscription for a nüvi® 3490LMT

Would I gain anything by purchasing the CityXplorer Toronto map.

Can somebody refresh my memory, is this the biggest Garmin display since the Garmin StreetPilot 7200/7500 series?
