Latest Map Filename

Hi... I downloaded the latest MAP and had it put on my PC & Garmin... Now I can't find the file on my PC... sad sad

I do see Mapsource.exe , but I believe that is for the application.

I checked this website for a hint or tip... Didn't find anything.

Any assistance would be appreciated.

Thanks

Assuming Windows OS

Assuming Windows OS, check in C:/ProgramData/Garmin/Maps. The maps are in a folder that will be clearing marked with the update number in the folder name (2013.20) and a .gmap extension.

Downloading the update to your PC and the GPS results in the maps being found by Mapsource or Basecamp automatically. If your asking the question so you can use them in those programs, you really don't need to know exactly where they are.

If you plan on using the maps on the PC to install the update on another device, I think you would have needed to also check the option "leave installation files on my computer", which appears on the same page as the option to install on the GPS and computer. If you didn't select to leave the files on your computer then I don't think you can install the update on another device without downloading it again.

You could also

You could also do a search for *.gmap if the other ideas don't work.

Do this anyway, just to see

Do a [Windows Key]-F combination.

In the dialog box which appears,
search for all files and folders.

In the box titled "All or part of the file name" type in *.gmap and search your entire C:\ drive.

nice tip
