Lost POI's and side streets

I recently downloaded a map update and now I am missing the POI's in the POI function and the side streets. The main highways and interstate highways are displayed. Any thought on what to do to get them back? The unit is an old Nuvi 780

New Map Isn't Loading

Your Nuvi is not recognizing the new map download.
What you are seeing is the BaseCamp map that is loaded on all Nuvi's. The missing POI's are part of the mapset which is not loading, BaseCamp has no POI's.

First thing to do is try a hard reset with instructions in below link. Make sure you backup your favorites as the instructions describe or you will lose them.

If the hard reset doesn't work it's possible your map didn't download properly.
Connect your Nuvi to the PC, then open up Windows Explorer. Now navigate to the Nuvi drive and look in the Garmin folder.

It should display a gmapprom.img and the gmapbmap.img (BaseCamp). If you don't see the gmapprom.img in the ?\Garmin folder that means the map didn't download properly and your old map was deleted.

If you have an SD card inserted, also check that for the maps presence, it will be in the drive letter following your Nuvi's drive letter.
Example; F:\Nuvi G:\SD card.

Hopefully the Hard Reset will fix it, if not, post back and let us know what you have seen in the folders. You may have to download the map again.

Before re-downloading and installing a "missing" map, check your nuvi's Map Info page.

Although a missing or corrupt map will give you results as you found, having an unchecked City Navigator" on your nuvi will do the same. So check your nuvi's Map Info page and if you see City Navigator unchecked, just check it and you'll be back in business.

to me. My map was uncheck. After rechecking my map all worked perfect.
