Garmin talk

Started having problems with this unit almost immediately. I attached it to my computer to register with Garmin and Garmin could not locate the device. The unit had frozen and I could not get it to power on. After about 15 minutes, it finally booted up. The next day, I tried again to register it and again, it froze up. I tried and tried to get it to power up - to no avail.

Went to the Mygarmin site to update an older model, 205w, and I am being directed to do a GCP install. It is taking a long time. Anyone else have this issue?

Going to UK in a week, bought a new SD City Navigator card and it won't be seen by my Nuvi 360, which I bought used. Battery low but not dead, no USB/computer cable, only cigar lighter charger. All help appreciated. Thanks, Fred

Hi... I downloaded the latest MAP and had it put on my PC & Garmin... Now I can't find the file on my PC...

I do see Mapsource.exe , but I believe that is for the application.

I checked this website for a hint or tip... Didn't find anything.

Any assistance would be appreciated.

Has anyone else experienced when you are driving that as the map moves along your route the refresh speed is a little slow on these superfast new GPSs?

I found searches and zooms fast, just not map shifting.

I received an email from what looks like Garmim, but I'm cynical and presume it's spam.

I called Garmin but they were not yet open.

Here is the text:

"We have discovered an issue with software version 2.50 on nüvi 30, 40 and 50 models that could potentially cause your device to not work properly. To correct this issues, please update the software on your device to version 2.60."

My GTM 20 power cord has stopped providing power and traffic info to my Nuvi 765T, which has unit lifetime traffic included. I'm way beyond the warrantee period but I found on the Garmin site, that Garmin will service my GTM 20 for $59. I have questions that I would like answered if possible?

Gander Mtn. is opening two new stores this month. One is in Valdosta, GA, and opened this week, I believe. The other is in Lafayette, IN, and will open on the 12th.

I looked at the specs for the 3590 on Garmin website. I am considering buying a new unit. It does not list having a trip log. Other units do have it, as shown at the bottom of the spec list.
Does anyone know if it does have the trip log feature, and can it be reset and does it have "hide" and "show?"

For those that are looking for adding lifetime maps to their Nuvi, Amazon currently has them for $54, including shipping. This price is a bit lower than it has been for a while.

I was out hunting, used "MARK" to establish my vehicle location. When I used the "GOTO" function to return to the WAYPOINT, it was .34 mile off.

I opened Garmin Basecamp a few mins ago and there is an update that addresses too many things for me to name here..enjoy Stan393

I recently downloaded a map update and now I am missing the POI's in the POI function and the side streets. The main highways and interstate highways are displayed. Any thought on what to do to get them back? The unit is an old Nuvi 780

Do you have to be navigating to be warned or just have it on in map view (non nav mode)?

Wow, could be the demise of my Nuvi 760.

Suddenly, when I boot my machine, I am getting a pop-up from Garmin saying that it wants me to register my "new" Garmin. I have two Garmins that have been running all year and longer. If I click to ignore it, it comes back at the next boot. It's annoying. Any ideas?

to not be announced when driving a route? I read on here somewhere that Basecamp has that ability. That would be great if it does, but I haven't been able to find a way to make it do so.

I have a MAC running OS Mountain Lion. I needed to update my maps and it always says I don't have enough memory. I deleted everything what do I do to make the gps work again? What do I do in the future so that I don't have to delete everything again?

I have a Garmin 1300 and would like to delete the extras I previously loaded and start all over again. Some of my files have been updated, and some I no longer use. Can't seem to find instructions to do that. Can someone help?
