Garmin talk

Does anyone have a trick on getting the Suction Cup for the 660. It is getting hot here in ATL and my suction cup keeps falling off the windshield. How can I stop this from happening?

Recently my Garmin nuvi 350 is stuck on "Acquiring Satelites" for a long, long time... Sometimes even 1/2 hour or more.

I'm running the latest (4.60) software version on the device.

I did the following things to try to solve the problem:

• Power Cycle (still no satelites)
• Reset (still no satelites)
• Cleanup (still no satelites)
  

Ok is another in Italian site, but contains all the useful tools, icon, SRF<->PNG converting, vehicles, voices

Is it possible to download a USGS chart, install it on the Garmin 270 and enable GPS tracking on it. If so, please direct me to software etc. that provides this capability with plain language directions. Thanks.

can i put More then one different poi files in the nuvi ?
or i have to remove the old one

Hi everyone. I'm planning on upgrading my c320 due mainly to the fact of the whole storing of POI's only on it's internal memory. Just to make sure I've got this right, the nuvi 350 does allow storing them on the SD card, right? Also if you have a nuvi 350, how do you like it? Thanks.

Anybody in the Atlanta area who just purchased a Nuvi 660 in the last month, do you have a reciept for your unit that I could have a copy of?

Ive loaded some custom POI files.
On one file for rest areas, I put @0 just to try to create a spped or any tiyppe of alert.

I ran webupdater and said version 5.50 of the unit software was available. Interestingly, I don't see it listed on the Garmin site! From what I recall, the update from 5.40 to 5.50 includes improved Mac support and improved custom POI function. But my memory is a little fuzzy on the specifics.

Not through the radio , but it's own separate speaker?

I just picked up a Garmin 360 and am getting used to it. The POIs Garmin installed and the ones I manually added appear on the screen as I drive by them. I downloaded some POIs here last week (great site, by the way) onto an SD card. I did not install them onto the 360's drive. I can access them fine through the "My Custom POIs" button and they take me where I want to go.

Well the inevitable has happened ... I left my Nuvi mount in a rental car.

What is the best place to buy a winshield mount for a Nuvi 350.

I was thinking this evening about the next Garmin that I would like to see. I already have a Garmin Street Pilot 2730, but I really like some of the features of the Garmin Nuvi 650/660 line. This is essentially what I would like:

-wide screen like Nuvi 650/660

-rechargeable internal lithium-ion battery like the Nuvi

-sensitive SiRF chip

On my Nuvi 360 it tells me where the next turn is right after you make a turn. It also tells me when I get close to the turn.

But what if I am driving on a 13 mile stretch and am on mile 1 and want to know which direction (right or left) I am going to turn in 12 miles? I cant figure our a visual or audible indicator.

I have the c330 & c340 Garmin units and I was wondering IF the battery could be charged using a cell phone charger. I have the Moto Razr cell phone with a mini USB charger and is rated at 5.0V and 550mA output.

Has anyone else noticed???

I recently bought a nuvi 660 and am trying to remove Fodor's Sample Data from the extras. Can this be done?

I recently downloaded the red light camera POI file which came in a .csv format. I could easily load these locations onto my nuvi with the Garmin POI Loader and add a proximity alert, but I can't open a .csv in MapSource to easily edit or add to it. I wanted to add a audio file that says "Red light camera ahead" or something like that when I approach these intersections.
