Yes & No
You can set avoidances for all Highways, Toll Roads, etc. but not to avoid a specific road or Highway.
Oh okay, I was asking
Oh okay, I was asking because even though I like the Nuvi 350 a lot, I am still debating about buying c550. I have till June 21st--to decide.

It's a tough call
I love my 550. I don't use the Bluetooth features, but love the bright screen & the text to speech.
I use bluetooth.

I use the Bluetooth every day so that I have a handsfree phone. And the MP3 player now plays through an FM tranmitter, and my car stereo picks it up on 88.1. That means I also get proximity alerts and turn by turn speech through the stereo.
Very, very cool. I am very happy that I upgraded from a c530 to a 550.

I wish it would
I wish it would allow us to bypass specific streets. Living in a big city there are specific High Crime areas that I would prefer not to travel through. I wish I could tell the GPS take me from point A to B but not on streets CDE&F. I guess that’s what the Brain is for. My concern is when the GPS takes you to a destination in a city you are NOT familiar with, through areas where the carjacking and murder rate is high.

Internediate Point
Pick your final destination, then add a point along the way that is off the line enough to route you away from the area you wouldn't be caught dead in!
