Garmin talk

My beanbag and cradle were recently stolen, rendering my nuvi 650 useless. I would like to buy a new unit that has a cradle that will also fit my 650(I use the MP3 player all the time). Anyone know of a backward compatible unit like that?

I've read some of the very old threads on the topic of calculation speed, none address the 2460 specifically.

any recommendation on which one works better.

I recently bought a nuvi 2460lmt.and download the latest map update.and I'm trying to locate the jcv and map files. I couldn't find it.where this files hiding?

I have a 3 or 4 year old 755t with life time maps. I'm thinking of getting a new 3490lmt. I work as a trucker and I've used and enjoyed my old 755t very much, but it is starting to act up on me.I have a new iphone 4 and if the blue tooth and text work with my phone i would buy it. does anyone have a new 3490lmt? do you like it? how well does the blue tooth work? can you hear it while driving?

Has anybody here had any luck transferring custom POI's to a Garmin Edge 800? Using Garmin's POI Loader I'm getting a FileName.poi file loaded into the \Garmin\POI folder. The POI Loader returns a "successful" message with the correct number of files being transferred at completion, but I can't find any of the new POI's on the GPS unit.

Hi, is there any way I can transfer the data I have from my old Street Pilot to my new Nuvi 40? I would like to be able to keep all my POI, favorites, recent places? Is there a web page somewhere that can tell me how to do this, Thanks, Happy holidays to all

Check in the "electronics" section... the price in "automotive" is higher.

I have asked questions for help on BaseCamp but they are in other post for BaseCamp and not always seen.

I am making this post as a place for help and information about BaseCamp.

I don't want to learn it but if Garmin stops supporting Mapsourse and uses BaseCamp it must be a better product.

Im pretty sure this unit shoul have my trends running on it. I've had the unit for about 2 months and frequently use it on my drive home. It is always taking me on a route that I normally wouldn't take. It hasn't changed at all. Is their a setting I need to make on it, to learn my preferance?

Received price alert this morning that the Nuvi 2460LMT is once again on sale for the 199.99 they had last month.
I missed that one but just placed my order.

I just downloaded the csv for pilot truck stops to put in my 2720. It keeps saying it is invalid file. I did some looking around and the other poi answers I found relate to gpi files and say to put it into the gps via windows explorer. This is not the case with the 2720 it does not show up in the explorer. Can some one look at the csv and find whats wrong? Thanks Dan.

My 2460LMT seems to have become confused.

When reaching some destinations the NUVI is telling me the arrival point is on the left when it is actually on the right and visa versa. The same destination point was OK in the past. I am not sure what has happened. Anyone have same experience or any thoughts on how to correct?

Has anyone noticed that sometimes the NUVI 3490 doesn't shutdown or sleep when the car power is turned off?

Mine usually turn off but a few times I've returned to a dead NUVI battery.

Here in Albuquerque, Lane Assist appeared very little save on the Interstate intersections until the three most recent map updates. Now they are very common, even including the 25 mph exit road from my residential community on to a four lane road. Sadly, that specific intersection displays wrong lane assist advice on my Garmin 855 nearly every time I drive through it while in active navigation.

decided to start a new thread to get better response.

I am trying to restore all stock selection of languages to my nuvi 275T (I deleted other language files from it in the past).

I would like to ask you to send me a copy of 2 untouched folders from your nuvi 2x5, locations:
a) Garmin\Text
b) Garmin\Help

GPS magazine site is still active with a new post today.

OK I have been working on this for the past 5 hours,

I tried all the other recommendations from the Original Article (How to install a map update directly to a SD card.)and I can get maps to install directly to the SD No problem at all I can do this in minutes, The 1390 NEVER finds them if they are not on the internal Memory.
